The countdown to HBO’s highly-anticipated Liberace biopic is in the final stretch. In a couple of weeks, we finally get to discover the man behind the sequins. Since this is based on the memoir written by Liberace’s former lover Scott Thorson, it’s also about the man “behind the man” behind the sequins (literally and figuratively *wink*).
If that wasn’t enough usage of the word “behind”, the network recently debuted a brand new featurette giving a behind the scenes look at Behind The Candelabra. That’s a whole lot of behinds. If you’re fascinated by the filmmaking process, you’ll appreciate the videos.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the HBO biopic will delve into the life of the flamboyant pianist played by Michael Douglas and the secret affair he had with Thorson (Matt Damon). The film has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival taking place later this month. Check out the videos below.
I can’t. Like I seriously can’t.
After last night’s shocking elimination (which you can read all about HERE) Team LATRILA has just released a new single/music video called “The Chop“. Honestly, I have to hand it to these two – and Manila especially. When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade bitch. The brand new single features vocals and raps by Latrice and Manila pretty much talking about if you get THE CHOP..who cares.
Who cares indeed. These two are destined for greatness, and I hope that Latrice takes a note from Manila’s book. Manila has been pumping out these singles, and videos and pretty much anything else since she’s been on season 3 and that is why we can’t get enough of her.
Take a look and listen to the video below. They both look fierce, and they both sound fierce. I love this track, and you will too. Get it on iTunes!
I absolutely love when Taylor Swift stops by The Ellen Show. It always induces a ton of laughter. Whether scaring her or poking fun at her and her various boyfriends past, Ellen sure knows how to push all of Taylor’s buttons. This visit was no exception. When hitting the stage to promote her new album, Red, Ellen proceeds to ask Taylor who the subject is for her hit, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
The talk show host hands the Begin Again songstress a giant bell as the game begins. Ellen decides to show different pictures of Taylor beside various men, regardless of whether they dated or not. Taylor’s job is to ring the bell when the man shows up who the song is about. While Taylor pleads the fifth for a majority of the game, she does have quite the reaction to Glee’s Corey Monteith. Could it be?
Jerry O’Connell is definitely sexy and he knows it. That’s why I am not surprised that the actor donned a sparkly speedo on The Ellen Show to enter the dunk tank to help raise money for breast cancer. O’Connell has been caught in speedos in mags before and openly owns it. I think that’s what makes him so damn sexy.
Jerry was on the show alongside Portia de Rossi to help promote their Halloween TV special, Mockingbird Lane. While he assumed only Ellen and Portia would be throwing balls to try and dunk him, Ellen surprised him with wife, Rebecca Romijn. What a good sport. Check out the video of Jerry getting soaked in his speedo below.
Long-time civil rights advocate and artist Cyndi Lauper has rallied an impressive list of stars from music and entertainment to help kick off the 2012 True Colors Summer Charity Auction to benefit the True Colors Fund’s work in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. Elton John, Liza Minnelli, Lady Gaga, Anderson Cooper, Jason Mraz, Ricky Martin and many more celebrities have donated incredible experiences for the auction, open now through July 31st at leading online charity auction house CharityBuzz at www.charitybuzz.com/TrueColorsSummer2012.
This is the fourth annual summer online for Lauper’s True Colors Fund and I have to say it’s the best collection of prizes yet. Whether you’re a music lover, television junkie or sports fanatic, there is a prize that might appeal to you. I’m even tempted to bid on a couple of items myself. Which ones, you ask? Well, since you ask… I would kill for a chance to meet silver fox Anderson Cooper. I’ve been a fan of his since his hosting days on ABC’s “The Mole“. Also enticing is watching the Project Runway finale fashion show live and getting my nails did with my girl, Jessica Sutta after grabbing a bite to eat. We can dish and dish ;). Check out all the items below.
If you are a fan of Community, you are a probably dying, waiting to hear whether or not NBC will choose to air the remaining episodes or drop it from the primetime lineup. I personally don’t watch the show faithfully but from what I’ve seen, I love it. It looks like this little comedic gem is facing the same problem that Cougar Town was having over at ABC.
Until we get official word from the network, we can enjoy a little nerdy fun. Thanks to Israeli artist Aviv Or, the ensemble cast from the show have been rendered into versions of the famous
As we’ve settled into most shows for the fall season, a few had yet to debut. One of these was the new ABC comedy, “Man Up!” which just premiered on Tuesday night. I really had no expectations going into the half-hour sitcom, but I actually like it! I will say that some other reviews I’ve seen say otherwise, but I did find myself laughing throughout the whole show.
Given the concept of having three adult male besties struggling to maintain their masculinity and childish behaviour in their respective lives, it’s a less racy TV version of “Hangover” or “Horrible Bosses” combined with a pinch of Phil Dunphy from “Modern Family“.
The show starts off with the three leading men playing a video game with each other from each of their homes while discussing their personal lives and issues. They soon get onto the topic of what Will (Mather Zickel) should buy his son for his 13th birthday. He wants the give to say, “I know you’re a man now, because I too am a man.” Craig (Christopher Moynihan, the sensitive one) suggests a journal, saying “A journal is a great place to put all your thoughts, your dreams, your poetry.” The witty & divorced Kenny (Dan Fogler) responds to the suggestion by saying, “You know another good place to put all those things is in your uterus.”
