If there is one exercise I extremely loathe, it’s those damn pull-ups. I’ve never been able to master it and always get tuckered out quickly. Kit Haringon, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have any problems doing them on the cover of Men’s Health UK. No wonder the 27-year-old actor had a rockin’ body in Pompeii.

Harington looks absolutely delicious wearing a simple tee with a pair of Nudie jeans on the cover. Speaking of nude, I’d like to see Kit in the buff in upcoming role soon. Please and thank you. Check out more pictures from the publication’s April 2014 issue below.

On Getting In Shape For Pompeii

“I’m not a 6ft 3in guy who can bulk up and just look like an absolute unit, a tank. My body type has a tiny bit of stockiness to it but it’s really quite wiry, so for Pompeii that was the sort of look I had to go for – ‘prison fit’, like Robert De Niro in Cape Fear.”

anton-hysen-myrtle-beach-mutiny

Long before Robbie Rogers became the gay poster child for professional soccer, Anton Hysen was the out athlete du jour when he came out in 2011. A couple of years ago there were rumors that Hysen was being courted by the Vancouver Whitecaps, but sadly that never came to fruition. Instead, another North American city gets the honor to cheer this cute stud.

The sexy Swede is about to give Rogers some competition in terms of LGBT visibility in US sports. The 23-year-old just signed with the Myrtle Beach Mutiny, a South Carolina team that competes in the National Premier Soccer League.

“I am excited to be joining the Mutiny this season. This is a great opportunity for me on a personal and professional level. I hope I can help take the team to the top of the NPSL.” – Atnon Hysen

Sadly, those looking for Rogers and Hysen to connect on and off the field, better not hold their breath. Rogers plays in Major League Soccer (MLS). In addition, Hysen previously revealed that the LA Galaxy player isn’t his type to Gay Star News. Check out the official press release below.

chloie-jonsson

A transgender woman in Northern California is suing the company behind CrossFit for $2.5 million in damages for not allowing her to compete in the CrossFit Games as a female. For those of you that don’t know, each year at this time, the CrossFit Games begin and everyone in the world competes on a weekly basis doing the same workouts. From there, finalist move onto regionals and then finally, the best of the best compete in the CrossFit Games in Carson, California to determine the fittest male and fittest female in the world.

Last Thursday, 34-year-old Chloie Jonsson filed a lawsuit with Crossfit Inc of violating her rights under California law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity. She explains that she was born a male but has been living a female since she was in her teens and has sexual reassignment surgery eight years ago.

The problem that Crossfit Inc. is having is that they feel that she fundementally will have an advantage over other women in the competition. That beings said, as the Daily Mail states, the International Olympic Committee and other sports governing bodies allow athletes who have undergone surgery, taken hormones and secured legal recognition to compete in the category that corresponds to their affirmed gender. I’ve included a letter below that is written to Jonsson’s lawyer, Waukeen McCoy and written by Dale Saran, from the General Counsel of Crossfit, Inc. It’ll be interested to see how this plays out.

Sports Stud: Kyle Kasperbauer

With the Reebok Crossfit Games now underway (well, the open part), I thought it’d be a good time to feature one of the many hotties that lead the pack. To give you an idea, there are over 110,500 athletes worldwide taking part in this “Open” part of the competition and some of the guys we’ve previously featured are among the leaders of the pack.

For this week’s Sports Stud, we have 31-year-old Kyle Kasperbauer from CrossFit Omaha (in the North Central region). In 2012, Kasperbauer finished in third place at the Games. Assuming he qualifies again this year, this will be his sixth time at the Games in Carson, California. All of that experience is definitely an asset as he competes again this year. He’s been close before so who knows what will happen this year! From what I can tell online, Kasperbauer is married and he and his wife share an adorable daughter together. Wishing him the best of luck competing this year!

Other Crossfit athletes that we’ve featured include Jason Khalipa, Mikko Salo, Rich Froning, and Dan Bailey.

Check out some photos of Kasperbauer in action below.

Sports Stud: Giuseppe Lanzone

With the 2014 Winter Olympics behind us, I felt in the mood to heat things up with a sexy athlete from a summer sport. For this week’s Sports Stud, we’ve got Giuseppe Lanzone – an American rower who was in the men’s 8+ that finished fourth at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

I have such a newfound appreciation for rowing as of the last year. Back when I was in University, I was on the rowing team but I was the coxswain. In the past year, I’ve joined Crossfit and rowing is a big part of it. I’m obviously not in the water when doing it, but regardless I find rowing to be a very intense workout/sport. Anyway, enough of that, back to Lanzone.

Aside from rowing, he’s made a career in modelling as a Wilhelmina Model. He certainly has the face and body for it. While you check out his sexy photos below, I’m gonna start celebrating my birthday which is today! Have a great weekend!

Based on all the covers Robbie Rogers has graced since coming out, I would agree with that sentiment. Once again, the LA Galaxy soccer player is shirtless on another publication. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

On a less superficial note, the 26-year-old athlete opens up about his journey to self acceptance. He reveals his struggles with mental health which eventually lead to his early retirement. Thankfully, he was greeted with open arms when he came out and returned back to professional soccer.

With that being said, being publicly out didn’t resolve all his issues. “25 years of self-hate doesn’t go away just because you come out,” he says. Here’s an excerpt from his 14-page piece in Attitude magazine.

Out with the old and in with the new. Dan Carter has been a longtime spokesperson for Jockey, but has been replaced by a younger breed of rugby players. Carter shouldn’t feel too bad though, he’s been named the Global Ambassador for Jockey International.

Stepping into Jockey’s snug-fitting styles are Sherwin Stowers, Ben Smith, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Gillies Kaka, Sam Whitelock, Liam Messam, Luke Romano, Tom Taylor and Tim Mikkelson. These fine men are part of Jockey’s new three-year sponsorship deal with the New Zealand Rugby Union. The underwear company will be the official off-field underwear sponsor of both New Zealand’s All Blacks and All Blacks Sevens teams. Expect plenty more Kiwi studs to drop trou soon. Check out some behind-the-scenes footage taken of the photo above.

Jason Collins’ Historic NBA Debut

In: Donovan, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

When Jason Collins came out last year in great fanfare on Sports Illustrated, he was a free agent. As fantastic as it was, the public declaration was more a symbolic one since he wasn’t part of a team. That all changed on Sunday when the 35-year-old signed with the Brooklyn Nets.

“The decision to sign Jason was a basketball decision,” Nets GM Billy King said in a statement. “We needed to increase our depth inside, and with his experience and size, we felt he was the right choice for a 10-day contract.”

Last night, Collins made history as the league’s first openly gay athlete when he checked in with 10:28 to go in the second quarter. Given that he contributed to the Nets’ victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, his prospects for a long-term run with the team are bright. Congrats to the Nets franchise for being a part of this historic moment in LGBT history.
