Everyone has body issues to a varying degree. Even professional athletes do. Admittedly, I had it during my early twenties when I couldn’t gain a pound no matter how much I ate.

BuzzFeed’s latest video tackles the issue of the ‘perfect body.’ To some, it’s big guns and six-pack abs. To others, it could be a chubuscular frame or a lean one. The online news media outlet corralled a few professional LGBT athletes, including LA Galaxy soccer player Robbie Rogers, to talk about the topic.

In the end, there’s no one size that fits all. “The perfect body is one that you’re comfortable in,” says basketball coach Julie Shaw. Check out the clip below.

Sports Stud: Greg Rutherford

For this week’s Sports Stud, I’ve decided to feature a handsome and sexy ginger named Greg Rutherford from the U.K. The 29-year old is a British track and field athlete who specializes in the long jump and also competes as a sprinter. He won the long jump gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2014 European Athletics Championships. The stud is also the current British record holder for this event with his personal best of 8.51 m (27 ft 11 in).

A couple years ago, he participated in Cosmopolitan Magazine’s nude issue so there are some great pictures and video of him for you to enjoy below. He’s also appeared on several reality competition shows.

Sports Stud: Todd Clever

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

For this week’s Sports Stud, we’re featuring American rugby union player, Todd Clever who is the captain of the United States national team. He also plays flanker for the NTT Shining Arcs in Japan’s Top League. He is 32-years-old and from Palm Springs, California.

Clever was featured in the new 2015 ESPN Bodies We Want Issue. In his interview with the magazine when asked about his body he explains, “I put a lot into it both on and off the field, making sure I get enough sleep, making sure I get enough nutrients, making sure I challenge myself in the gym and on the field so I can play at the level I want to play at. I’ve never been the biggest guy or the fastest or anything like that. The thing that has really set myself apart is the work rate — doing extras so that I’m fitter than the guy across from me.”

Sports Stud: Bryce Harper

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

Happy 4th of July! Earlier this week we posted about pro tennis player, Stan Wawrinka posing nude for the 2015 ESPN Body issue and in last week’s Sports Stud, we featured NHL player Tyler Seguin doing the same. With that in mind, let’s add another to the mix: Bryce Harper. This Major League Baseball player has also stripped down for this year’s issue. He says in the magazine:

“I worked hard this offseason to get my body where I needed to get it because, finally, I wasn’t hurt. I was able to work every single muscle in my body head to toe. In 2013, I had the knee injury; the year before that, I just wasn’t healthy. Now, I feel great. I feel light. My body feels pretty unbelievable.

I’m about 8 percent body fat right now. I think the lowest I’d been was 13, so it’s pretty special. I’m down to 208 from 240 – actually back where I was in college.”

Sports Stud: Tyler Seguin

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

For this week’s Sports Stud, I’ve decided to feature Tyler Seguin… for two reasons. The first reason is that although I posted about him back in 2011 post Boston Bruins winning the Stanley Cup, he’s gotten even hotter since then. Sleeve tattoos, sexy photos, and is in even better shape. The second reason is because he’s going to be one of many hot athletes featured in the 2015 edition of ESPN’s Bodies We Want Issue… which means he’ll be naked!

Seguin is a Canadian pro hockey player in the NHL that used to play for the Boston Bruins (when they won the Stanley Cup) but on July 4, 2013, he was traded by the Bruins to the Dallas Stars. He is sponsored by Dunkin Donuts, Under Armour, AT&T, Bauer Hockey and BioSteel Sports Supplements. In 2014, he bought the former home of Mike Modano, a retired NHL player that was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame the same year.

Professional wrestler Matt ‘Money’ Cage best known for his work on the independent circuit came out as gay via his Facebook. The 26-year-old previously identified himself as bisexual to friends in late 2013 but now reveals that’s no longer the case.

“I have no real intentions of pursuing females at this stage of my life,” he writes in a post titled Here Goes Nothing on the social networking site.

Cage made his wrestling debut in 2009. Throughout his career, he’s won several championships. To check out his lengthy coming out post, keep reading. Congrats to Cage for finding his truth.

ESPN’s annual parade of the best bodies from the wide world of sports is almost upon us. Based on the preview, the seventh annual edition of the Body Issue looks to be one of their hottest.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper (above) is just one of the athletes highlighted in the issue which hits online on July 6 and on newsstands July 10. “I’ve always wanted to do the Body Issue,” Harper said. “I want to put baseball out there.” To that I say, put baseball wherever you want baby 😉

Harper is joined by Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers and DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., two-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner, USA women’s soccer star Ali Krieger, Olympians Aly Raisman and Natalie Coughlin, and newly crowned French Open champion Stan Wawrinka. Hello Homorazzians! It’s been a while since I’ve written anything more personal than my thoughts on the latest and greatest of TV and Movies and I thought I’d come back with my recommend for increasing the yield you get from being gay as summer hits and prides, vacations, and vascularity from the gym seem to be all anyone can talk about… Join a gay sport!

The reason I’m “telling you what to do” is because too often I’m STILL reading in comments and blogs and on Facebook inane posts that “Gay [insert your city here] is unfriendly” or that it’s impossible to meet new guys, or that gay life is just about the bar and club scene. First off: shut up. Second off: your life is in your hands so change what you don’t like about it. Fine, to the two readers in Mumbai, yes, there are limits to how much you can access if your home doesn’t have the options most metropolis’ do, but that’s an article for another day (and another author, cause honestly I would just tell you to run). Instead, this goes out to guys who have opportunities and don’t take advantage: get off your ass and stop complaining!
