Bonjour, Monsieur Gourcuff! For this week’s Sports Stud, I decided to feature French soccer player Yoann Miguel Gourcuff. A few years ago back in 2010, I featured him as a World Cup Hottie Of The Day but feel that he’s definitely worthy of a new post. As previously mentioned, his mom was a basketball player, his older brother (Erwan) is a competitive swimmer & cyclist, and his dad was a former footballer who played for several clubs/countries – thus, he followed in his papa’s footsteps.
The 27-year-old mainly plays midfield (which is what I play mostly – requires A LOT of running) but sometimes plays striker. He currently plays for French club Olympique Lyonnais.
Back in 2008, France Gay magazine Têtu named him “Bomb of the Month.” The gay mag referred to his “doe eyes, rebellious locks, and tapering thighs. He had succeeded Cristiano Ronaldo for this title in Têtu. Check out some photos of Gourcuff below!
For this week’s Sport Stud, I decided to highlight another sexy Canadian NHL Hockey Player. Joffrey Lupul plays as alternate captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs and plays left wing. Other teams he has played on include Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Last year, Lupul was nominated for the Masterton Trophy after he put up 67 points in 66 games after recovering from back surgery and a blood infection. Outside of Hockey, Lupul enjoys playing guitar and dresses like a million bucks. Seriously, he’s a stud on and off the ice.
Lupul is incredibly handsome and in amazing shape. In fact, he was included in this year’s Naked Issue of ESPN’s Bodies We Want. I’ve included the ice-melting photos from that shoot below.
It’s not the first time Brendon Ayanbadejo has posed for Adam Bouska’s NOH8 campaign. However, it’s the first time the NFL free agent has posed naked for him. The only thing covering his special no-no parts is some pigskin. “A real man supports equality,” says the caption of his sexy pic.
On a side note, I had no idea Bouska was still doing this project given that the Supreme Court overturned Prop 8 which was the initial reason for the project. Perhaps, it’s time to retire his trademark silver duct tape? Unless, of course, it involves more athletes shedding their clothes for equality. I’m all for nudity ;) Check out Brendon’s latest NOH8 pic below.
This week’s Sports Stud is from the world of men’s gymnastics and is none other than Sam Mikulak. We previously included the 20-year-old in our Hottest Male Gymnasts Of The 2012 Summer Olympics post last year but now he gets a feature of his own.
Mikulak is certainly proving to be one to watch for in men’s gymnastics. Earlier this year, he won the Big Ten and NCAA title and just a few weeks ago backed that up with winning the title at the 2013 P&G Championships, the biggest meet since the 2012 Olympics. After this competition, the Men’s Senior Team was officially announced and needless to say, Mikulak made the cut.
Mikulak, who attends the University of Michigan, has had a great year so far and I’m sure there’s more to come. Check out his photos and videos from his most recent competition below.
For this week’s Sport Stud, I’ve decided to highlight the extremely handsome and talented Vancouver Whitecaps soccer player, Jordan Harvey. I recently had the opportunity of meeting him through his lovely and equally talented girlfriend Kimberly Caldwell, whom I’m grateful to have gotten to know over the past couple weeks. Some of you may recall that Donovan interviewed her while in LA in the past. Expect more on Kim soon in the very near future with her new album coming out and more exciting news!
Harvey is originally from Mission Viejo, California but now resides in Vancouver with Caldwell while he plays for the Whitecaps. After starting out playing for Strikers FC, Harvey then played for the University of California, Los Angeles for four years from 2002 to 2005. In college, he also played with Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League. In 2006, he was drafted by the Colorado Rapids and in 2009 was taken on by Philadelphia Union. In 2011, he was transferred to Vancouver Whitecaps with whom he currently plays.
Last week, Harvey and Caldwell spent time on Vancouver Island to support the Hope and Health Charity Event. The two performed a couple songs together at the opening ceremonies and had a great time with all of the kids participating in the event while supporting a great cause. These two make the cutest couple! Check out some photos of Harvey below and stay tuned for interviews with both him and Kim soon!
Well, another pride season has come and gone, which means the hot boys of summer who seemed to have leaped from the bushes all tanned and buff to populate the streets will slither back into the undergrowth. You nursed your hangover at your desk all week and wished life could go on being a Speedo pool party forever. And all over the city, testicles will be filling back out and producing normal levels of sperm, at least until this time next year.
Yes, no pride season is complete without the perennial steroid rant, brought to you this time by somebody who seriously had no clue until like three weeks ago that literally everyone was on the juice.
It began when I made an offhand joke to someone I had recently started dating about how it would be nice to put on more muscle with minimal effort but no ball shrinkage, backne or looking like an aubergine.
He responded cagily about not judging other people’s choices.
“Are you defending steroid use to me?” I asked in disbelief.
I bet the cameraman had no idea he was about to witness the first WWE wrestler to come out. For that matter, I’m pretty sure Darren Young had no clue he was about to publicly declare his sexuality while at an airport turnstile.
During your standard LAX stalking paparazzi encounter, TMZ asked Young about his opinions if “a gay wrestler could be successful within the WWE.” Caught off guard, Young breezily told him, “Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy.” Props to Darren for being the first WWE athlete to come out. Love the whole casualness of it all.
Later in the day, TMZ caught up with wrestling superstar John Cena to get his take on the situation. “Oh, wonderful!” replied Cena. “Darren’s a great guy. That’s a very bold move for him, and congratulations [to] him for doing it.” He then goes on to reveal he has a gay brother. I wonder what he looks like ;) Check out both TMZ encounters below.
We’ve always found Nick Symmonds to be one sexy athlete. With his public defiance of Russia’s anti-gay law, he’s even sexier now.
The 29-year-old long-distance runner won a silver medal in the 800-meter race at the World Track and Field Championships in Moscow. Upon winning, he dedicated his hardware to his LGBT friends. Afterward, while talking to Russian media he spoke of gay rights. An act you’re fully aware places him at risk for violating the country’s “gay propaganda” legislation. Props to Symmonds for sticking to his guns and continuing to be an LGBT ally. Check out a snippet of his interview below.
