This week I decided to highlight ironman and five-time Coolangatta Gold champion Caine Eckstein from Australia. Surprisingly, I think this is the first ironman I’ve selected for a Sports Stud. This year, he competed in the Kellogg’s Nutri Grain Series (which he won), Australian Surf Life Saving Championships and also trained for some long distance ski paddling events. He is currently training for the Kona Ironman in Hawaii that takes place this coming October, followed by the Xterra World Championship race that happens two weeks after in Maui.
In addition to his regular competitions, the 26-year old was a finalist in this year’s Cleo Bachelor of the Year and a competitor in the most recent season of Australia’s Dancing With The Stars.
When you are an ironman, naturally your body is in tip-top shape – and his is. An ironman race is comprised of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bike and a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run, raced in that order and without a break. When you see his photos below, you’ll see just how incredible and chiseled his body is. Clearly it takes so much discipline and hard work to compete in the ironman, and clearly he’s got what it takes. Very inspiring!
This week’s Sports Stud is Francesco Totti, an Italian footballer / soccer player who is the captain of Serie A club Roma. This 35-year-old has spent his entire career at Roma, is the number-one goalscorer and the most capped player in the club’s history. Not only is considered as one of the finest players in his generation, he’s also considered Roma’s greatest player ever. Not too shabby!
He and his wife Ilary Blasi are often referred to as the Italian Beckhams. His wife used to be a showgirl but has since been the has been a co-host of Italia 1′s hit show Le Iene since 2007.
I’m actually surprised that I haven’t highlighted him as a Sports Stud before. He is one hot soccer player and when he’s on the beach, his package can barely be contained within his speedos. He is one “Hottie Totti” if you as me. Enjoy the pictures below!
Since New York Fashion Week begins this week, I was all set to pick a high fashion model to highlight. That plan instantly got derailed the second I saw this sexy beast. I immediately had to snatch up Will Grant for my Model Behavior feature before Patrick swiped him for his Sports Stud series. After all, Grant is not only a fitness model but an athlete as well.
Originally hailing from Seattle, Washington, Will Grant entered the BMX world at the age of 16. Since then, he’s become a two-time National Champion. Grant currently resides in Florida where he trains for his competitions and also works as a fitness model. With that sculpted body, it’s not shocking he’s often photographed wearing just underwear or swimsuits. Get to know every inch of Will’s sexy body in several shirtless pics below.
Last month, Tyrell introduced you to the five finalists vying to win the Men’s Health 2012 Cover Model contest. After tabulating all the votes, Charlie Powell beat out all the other sculpted studs to win the coveted October 2012 cover of the publication. The 32-year-old army captain garnered 4,270 votes, proving the magazine’s readers love a man in, and especially out of a uniform. Men’s Health Editor Toby Wiseman said the following about the October cover boy.
“Charlie epitomises the functional fitness we should all aspire to. Despite his overseas postings making regular training sometimes difficult, his dedication to his own health and fitness is an inspiration to the many time-poor men amongst us. If he can find the time and space to exercise, so can we.” Wiseman added “His training has left him fit and strong, as well as in excellent shape aesthetically. He personifies everything the Men’s Health man should be – a natural in front of the camera and a down-to-earth guy. The competition was very tough, but he is a more than worthy winner.”
While I do think Powell is an excellent choice, I was secretly hoping that Mitchell Tovee or Ben Mudge would take it. Those bitches are damn finnnnnnnne. Charlie Powell’s issue is available now. Pick it up to learn his and all the runner-ups’ training secrets. Check out a few pics of Powell from the issue below.
This week, I decided to focus on a cute 24-year old English professional boxer named Ashley Sexton. He made his professional debut back in 2008 and is the holder of the English flyweight title and has also competed for the full British title. Flyweight is a category in boxing where the boxers weigh above 108 lb (49 kg) and up to 112 lb (52 kg) – light little buggers!
Other than boxing stats, I wasn’t able to find a lot about him,but from what I gathered, he does seem to have a great group of friends that all love to have a good time. Also, from what I gathered from Twitter, he fancies older woman and Janice Dickinson is right up his alley – or he’s right up hers, depending on which way you look at it.
Anyway, he seems like a cool guy. Check out some of his pictures and videos below!
This week’s Sports Stud is a sexy 25-year-old rugby player from the United Kingdom named Danny Care. We first introduced you to him as part of the 2011 Rugby’s Finest Calendar ensemble, but today I wanted to focus on him specifically.
He plays for Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership, primarily playing at scrum-half but he can also operate in the fly-half role. He actually just signed a new three year contract with them so he’ll be with them until at least 2016.
He first started playing rugby when he was just 6-years-old and never stopped since. He’s a bit of a bad boy and has had a few instances with the law involving alcohol or disorderly conduct, but he has cleaned up his act and even given up drinking to really commit to his career. Check out his sexy pictures below.
This week I wanted to keep two things in mind when selecting Sports Stud. (1) I wanted to make sure he wasn’t just in the Summer Olympics – after all, we’ve just spent the last two weeks highlighting them every day. (2) The second factor was that they had to be really hot. Again, after all of those super sexy Olympic Hotties, the bar is pretty high.
With that, this week’s Sports Stud is 27-year-old Sonny Bill Williams from New Zealand. He is a rugby union player, heavyweight boxer and former rugby league player. He plays for the Chiefs in the 2012 Super Rugby season was also a member of the All Blacks squad that won the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Switching over to boxing, since 2009 he has boxed five times and won all five of the heavywight bouts. At this time, he is the New Zealand Professional Boxing Association (NZPBA) Heavyweight Champion.
Aside from all of his success in sports, he’s been quite a bad boy off the field and out of the ring, making headlines with a sex scandal, urinating in public, skiing while on injury leave, and drinking & driving. His bad boy image is complete with some sexy tattoos which I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Check out his pictures below!
The 30th Olympiad, host to Great Britain, has officially come to a close. There were many highlights, including both the opening and closing ceremonies, heart-felt defeat for some Canadians, like the men’s 4x100m relay team, and a Canadian first with a gold medal in women’s trampoline from 23-year-old Rosie MacLennan.
The highlight: The closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics featured performances by three openly gay musicians: George Michael, and Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of the Pet Shops Boys. The closing ceremonies also celebrated the late Freddie Mercury of Queen, who Jessie J did justice to and who is also openly bisexual.
