A couple months ago, I joined CrossFit 604here in Vancouver and it was the best thing I ever did. I can honestly say CrossFit is now my favorite fitness related activity that I’ve ever done. People have said to me, “Oh you’re part of the cult,” which is hilarious. The reason why it people think that is because people are so freaking excited about what they are doing and can accomplish. I now know first hand and in CrossFit I have pushed myself further physically than in any other fitness related activity I’ve ever done.

1. The Challenge

You know when you go to the gym and the odd time you leave and you think to yourself, “Man that was an amazing workout…” Well, that’s literally how I feel every morning I finish CrossFit. You push yourself further than you would at the gym and the workouts really push you to your limit… to the point where you realize that it’s a mind game. Your mind wants you to quit, but your body can keep going.

2. The Variety

Every day is different and you don’t have to worry about “chest day” or “legs day” and things like that which is what I hated about the gym. I would get bored of my routines so quickly. Prior to CrossFit, I was also doing elite bootcamps with WestCoast Fitness, and those were 10x better than going to the gym (for me) and actually incorporate some CrossFit into their workouts. There just came a point where I couldn’t do CrossFit and bootcamp or my body would die. If CrossFit doesn’t appeal to you and you want to go to a good bootcamp class a few times a week, I’d recommend West Coast Fitness (that is if you are in Vancouver of course).

So it’s been a few weeks since I’ve been back from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I am missing the amazing weather & wearing summer clothing. The trip in summary was fun, filled with sight seeing, eating, shopping & some night life. There were lots of great things about Buenos Aires but there were also some things that were a bit annoying.

1. Food

Food was very affordable and amazing. I could not get enough of the empanadas! Argentina is known for their beef and there was no shortage of that. Everyone you turn is a parilla serving various amazing cuts of meat cooked on the grill. Palermo Hollywood has the best assortment of restaurants. Be careful though, specially if you have a sensitive stomach, the organisms in the food may upset your digestive system.

So far this year, we’ve looked at the best news blooper of January and February and before we get to the March roundup, there one standout blooper that you simply must see.

I’m sure you’re familiar with those phone pranks where someone asks something like “Is Amanda Huggenkiss there?” LOL. Well, a similar thing just happened to a weatherman. Henry DiCarlo, a KTLA morning news weatherman, got tricked into wishing “Huge Anus” a happy birthday on the live TV newscast. If course it must have read, Hugh Janus, but that’s not how it sounded. A fellow anchor burst out laughing before DiCarlo realized what he had said and they were all in stitches for quite a while before they could recover.

Yesterday, a good friend of mine shared this video with me and thought it was worth sharing. Then I saw a few people posting it on Facebook as well so I’m now getting around to writing about it.

You see, earlier this week, my world changed quite a bit with a breakup, but the truth of the matter is it’s a good thing. Despite the fact that it’s a painful process, I’m now at the point where I get why it’s good. We are both at places in our lives where we have been complacent and not happy. Not necessarily with each other, but our careers and focus in life. I had several moments of clarity over the past 12 hours and the most important thing is to do what makes you happy. If you’re not happy, change it and take action. Being an entrepreneur, I do generally “do what I love,” but change is always needed in life and I’m excited for what lies ahead.

This video, narrated by Alan Watts, asks the question, “What If Money Did Not Matter?” We spend most of our lives doing things we don’t love because we feel like we have to for money. But what if you did something you loved and enjoyed life first and foremost? Chances are that can turn into something you can make money at. Watch the video to see this explained more clearly.

I love a good disney parody and also love a good a cappella cover so the video below made me very happy. A YouTuber/Singer named Jon Cozart created a song called “After Ever After” that he sings a cappella with himself.

The “After Ever After” lyrics tell the story of several of your favorite Disney characters and what happened to them after they lived happily ever after. For example, here’s what happened to Ariel:

“I loved being princess down in — this beautiful ocean blue / But mermaids are going missing — they end up in someone’s stew / So just try to put yourself in — to somebody else’s gills / You’re killing my ecosystem — with fishing and oil spills / Thank you BP, thank you BP / The British are killing, oil is spilling / Now I can’t see… MY EYES! / Chinamen feast on Flounder’s fins / Plus the Japanese killed all my whale friends / Oceans are browning, I think I’m drowning / Thanks to BP / YOU SUCK!”

I just checked out this new video from Funny Or Die called “She Said, She Said” and just had to share it with you. I sure needed a good laugh on this rainy, “spring forward” Sunday afternoon.

The short video (directed by Stuart Blumberg) stars Marisa Tomei and Elodie Bouchez as a lesbian couple that is on the brink of divorce and decides to go through mediation in order to decide how to divide their possessions. As you know, divorces and breakups are definitely not smooth sailing so things get ugly. At one part, they have a flashback where one of them develops a fling with the hilarious Aubrey Plaza who you know best from Parks & Recreation.

Kids are amazing! In a breakdancing competition called Chelles Battle Pro 2013 that took place in Chelles, France (a suburb of Paris) over the weekend, a little girl 6-year old girl from England was the youngest girl in the competition, taking part in the “Baby Battle“.

Inspired at a young age by his older sister, Terra (shown in the photo above by Hip Hop Photography) is a very gifted breakdancer and has already won several competitions and she is described as very mature and personable for her age. She’s part of the London b-boying group Soul Mavericks and apparently joined the group when she was just five years old.

Steam Room Stories is back with another silly, sexy sauna short but this time things are a little more bizarre than usual. In most of the episodes, the guys are coming in from the gym to enjoy a post-workout steam, but on occasion there are those ones that don’t make sense like when the guy came in all glittered from gay pride. You just have to ignore that part… as in this one. It doesn’t have to make sense… they’re hot guys in towels.

In this episode, the guys come stumbling in and are drunk… but one of them decides he wants to get “butt drunk” buy using a funnel and tube and pouring beer into it… with the end being in the guy’s butt. This bizarre form of getting drunk is supposed to make you get drunk faster. It’s dangerous and obviously super weird but anyway…
