Looks like Air New Zealand has some competition in the in-flight safety video department. For years the Kiwi company has come up with innovative clips demonstrating the dos and donts of airline travel. With Virgin America’s new safety demo, they’ve certainly raised the bar. It’s practically a Broadway musical number.
Directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2 & 3, G.I. Joe: Retaliation), the visual stars Todrick Hall as one of the flight attendants. The YouTube sensation along with his crew sing and dance their little hearts out in the extremely spacious aisles of the imaginary aircraft. Love me Virgin America but the leg room shown in the clip is false advertising ;)
Watch the flight crew and passengers execute choreography by Jamal Sims and Christopher Scott. You might even spot a SYTYCD alum or two in the mix. If by any chance you want to star in Virgin’s next safety demo, simply upload an Instagram video of yourself with your freshest moves using the #VXsafetydance hashtag. Next time I fly Virgin, I demand the crew bust out the Safety Dance.
Adam Lambert doesn’t make his Glee debut for another week, but he’s already hanging out with one of its stars, Amber Riley aka Mercedes Jones. The 31-year-old singer kicks off Todrick Hall’s latest masterpiece, Spell Block Tango.
The YouTube sensation teamed up with Marlon Wayans’ new company “What The Funny” to produce a viral Halloween video. Not surprisingly, Disney characters are incorporated in the clip. Hall definitely has a hard-on for all things Mickey, doesn’t he? This time he allows a few of Disney’s most infamous villains to tell their side of their respective fairytale while set to the music of Chicago. It’s actually quite funny.
Along with Lambert and Riley, the clip features appearances by Blake McGrath, Pia Toscano, Cassie Scerbo, several hot shirtless models and Todrick himself. Check out Spell Block Tango below.
File this under random. Fun, but random nonetheless.
Britney Spears appeared alongside Nick Grimshaw for a Halloween sketch on BBC Radio 1. The “Work Bitch” singer channels her inner Vincent Price and recites the lyrics to Michael Jackson’s classic “Thriller.” She’s definitely not as ghostly and frightening as Price, but it’s nice to see Brit getting into the holiday spirit. Check it out below.
Remember Chris Crocker? He became a YouTube sensation back in 2007 with his viral Leave Britney Alone clip. Since then, he’s been the subject of the HBO documentary, Meet At The Zoo, released a couple of singles and dabbled in porn. Now he can add another hyphenate to his list of accomplishments.
The Tennessee-born personality has been tapped by American Apparel to front their upcoming campaign. The 25-year-old shared a few of the pics on his Instagram. I have to say, he cleans up pretty well. Check a few more pictures below.
When one thinks of motor homes, this isn’t exactly what comes to mind. With $30,000 worth of leather, $100,000 – $125,000 worth of technology, a $20,000 bathroom and $100,000 granite countertops spanning over 1,200 square feet, you won’t find this luxurious two-storey mobile mansion at your neighborhood trailer park. If so, where because I’m moving in.
This place Will Smith calls home while on set is so sick it’s nicknamed “The Heat.” HGTV highlighted it on their series, Celebrity Motor Homes. The coolest part is when it expands to give even more room inside. If you like what you see, reportedly, you can rent it for a reasonable $9,000 a week. Check out all the wicked features and amenities in the video below.
If you encountered an extraordinary amount of grouchy people today, perhaps they were merely just taking part in the annual celebration. National Grouch Day was originally created to celebrate Sesame Street‘s resident curmudgeon, Oscar The Grouch. According to Muppet Wiki (yes, that’s a thing), “A Grouch’s mission in life is to be as miserable and grouchy as possible, and pass that feeling on to everyone else.”
Even though this random holiday was intended for Oscar the Grouch, television and film are filled with crotchety characters– some lovable, some not so much. A few celebrated habitual pessimists include Simon Cowell (early American Idol era), Glee’s Sue Sylvester, Archie Bunker, Judge Judith Sheindlin, Breaking Bad‘s Walter White and those Grumpy Old Men Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Who are your favorites? Share them below after watching Oscar the Grouch’s grouch anthem.
Because this writing style is all the rage.
Look, this informal lead sentence will prepare you for a meta-conversational article which is persuasive because we’re just two buddies kiki-ing, here. Nothing scary about that, right?
With that out of the way: I’m not a huge CrossFit zealot. I’m a skeptic by nature, who CrossFits because it works for me. I wanted to be fit and look good, now I am and I do. I don’t eat paleo, I compete casually, and I only talk about CrossFit when people ask me how I got it like that.
But it seems to have become ok for people who don’t do it to hate on it, and I’m not sure I understand why that is, except maybe people who haven’t got it like that tend to resent people who do, and maybe they know a few douchebags who give the whole community a bad name, and maybe they’re too intimidated to try it themselves.
A couple of days ago, I shared a clip by Marina Shifrin where she gave the most epic job resignation. Frustrated with her boss, Shifrin executed an interpretive dance to Kanye West’s “Gone” which went viral, amassing over 11 million views as of publish time. As they say, everything happens for a reason. Queen Latifah not only invited Marina to her show, but also offered her a job as digital content product, a job she created specifically for her. Not too shabby.
Meanwhile half way across the world in Taiwan, her previous employer Next Media Animation filmed a video response to Shifrin’s original clip. He appears in the clip with his “happy” staff, showing the perks of working there. In addition, he declares they’re hiring and gives instructions on how to apply. Just in case you’re wondering, he’s not bitter about being the subject of Marina’s clip and he wishes her well. Check out Shifrin’s appearance on Latifah’s show and her previous boss’ video response below.
