Vancouver-based yoga wear giant, Lululemon just can’t seem to catch a break over the past few weeks. Some serious allegations were made by the late Wilfried Knight in his blog posts before he took his own life (may he rest in peace), and now they’ve had to issue a massive yoga pants recall because one of their latest designs turned out to be see-thru. As a result of the recall, the company’s share prices have been falling.
Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, they made fun of the fact that women everywhere are facing a crisis that they don’t have expensive spandex-like pants to wear anymore and made a fake ad where people can donate to help get women new yoga pants. Without yoga pants, woman are forced to wear cardboard pants, bubble wrap pants, and yogurt pants because they clearly have no other options. “With your donation of $120 a day, you can put one woman in one pair of yoga pants,” they explain in the ad. Watch the funny clip below.
It’s the collaboration that keeps on giving. Jeremy Scott’s partnership with adidas originals began in 2008. His shoe designs became instant iconic bestsellers for the brand. Once again, the American designer creates eye-popping masterpieces. I totally want the totem pole-inspired high-tops. I just hope they don’t get pulled from stores like last season’s high-tops which came with plastic orange ankle cuffs. Civil right groups claimed they were racist since they resemble shackles- a symbol of slavery.
For the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Scott looked at Native American imagery for inspiration. Several pieces feature heavily printed images of totem poles and eagles. Not everything has this motif however. Plaid is also very well represented. He mixes and matches prints perfectly for a track jacket and pair of sneakers. Speaking of footwear, Jeremy brings back his popular wings for certain styles. Though I would never wear them, the bear camo high-tops are totes adorable. Check them out and the rest of his outlandish and fun collection featuring ANTM judge and male supermodel Rob Evans.
What would Miranda Priestly say? I’m sure she wouldn’t approve of Stanley Tucci’s high-waisted jeans and wifebeater? Speaking of The Devil Wears Prada, did you know Tucci married co-star Emily Blunt’s sister Felicity last year? I had no idea.
I don’t know what I find more shocking about this vintage Levis commercial from the 80s. The fact that Tucci was once a former male model or that he had hair. For as long as I can remember, the 52-year-old always sported a shiny scalp. He suits it so well. In fact, watching him act all chachi with thinning hair as a leading man is a little odd. To me, he’ll always be the actor who plays memorable supporting roles in the aforementioned Prada flick, The Hunger Games, Maid In Manhattan and the classic Burlesque. LOL. Obviously, I kid with the last one. Check out Tucci’s Levis commercial below.
His last name says it all. I’m pretty sure Kute isn’t pronounced “cute“, but for argument’s sake, let’s say it does. After highlighting a major player (Arthur Kulkov) in the fashion industry last week for my Model Behavior post, I wanted to sex it up this week. Cold showers were invented for people like Adrien Kute. Several glances at his portfolio will definitely heat you up.
I first noticed this French model when he appeared in a swimwear editorial for AXN magazine last year. Since then, Kute popped up in a couple of international gay publications- DNA and Sensitif- both of which were photographed by Simon Le. Most recently, he appeared in Pulse Denver magazine showing off his Baskit while working out. Check out Adrien’s portfolio below. Be forewarned, there are plenty of swimwear and underwear photos. I couldn’t help it because I could only find a handful of photos with him wearing clothes. No Lie.
I can’t believe I haven’t featured Tyson Ballou on the site yet. Shame on me for ignoring the gorgeous American male model until now. What better way to introduce him to you than with his latest ad campaign. PS. He shows off some skin ;)
Once again, Swedish retailer H&M nabbed the 36-year-old to show off their new line. This time around it’s to showcase their swimwear. It features Ballou cavorting around at some peaceful beach resort. A model’s life is so hard ;) Tyson looks much better modeling these items than those après ski looks from their Winter collection. More skin, the better, I say.
Whether you’re more modest and appreciate board shots or dig the retro shorter styles, H&M has an option for everyone. All come in colorful checked patterns, bold colors or stripes. With daylight savings in full effect, Summer feels even closer than ever. I can’t wait. Check out the wide array of options below.
My post featuring promotional photos from MIA Fitness Team “The Lab” proved so popular, I thought I’d share a recent photoshoot starring one of the guys featured in those steamy marketing photos. I have no doubt Darian Alvarez was the primary reason why that post did so well. This former Honduran football player just oozes hotness from every pore and muscle.
Photographer Edwin J. Lebron was lucky enough to snap Alvarez. I don’t know how he kept his focus given that Darian was mere steps away, wearing just a black speedo and glistening all over the place. I know I couldn’t have. The photoshoot is for Lash magazine- fashion with a soul. If you haven’t seen the publication’s editorials before, you definitely have to. Lots of beautiful things to see. But first, check out Darian’s beach-y spread below. It’s muy caliente.
For this week’s Model Behavior post, I decided to feature someone who’s making serious money. Meet Arthur Kuklov who’s currently ranked No. 8 on models.com list of top male moneymakers. Since making his debut in 2008, the Russian male model has been prominently featured in fashion editorials, ad campaigns and on major runways around the world. He’s one of the few models to land a cover for both Details and GQ- a rarity in the male model industry.
The 29-year-old was born in Siberia and later immigrated to the US. In 2005, he graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. Kulkov began his modeling career when a model scout spotted him playing soccer.
To list out Arthur’s fashion credits would take forever. A few highlights include ad campaigns for Banana Republic, Dolce & Gabbana, Lacoste, Esprit and Tommy Hilfiger. He’s so popular with the latter that he’s become a permanent fixture with the company since 2011.
Recently, the Russian hottie has dabble in acting. He made his debut in a short film titled The Main Event in America. He plays a boxer named Phonix Mostlyn who struggles between pursuing his dream or his love for a man. Yuppers, he plays a homo in it. There’s a hot scene where he’s pleasuring himself. WOOF. I’ve embedded the film after all the photos. Hope you enjoy this week’s Model Behavior.
Apologies for neglecting my fashion posts as of late. I definitely plan on rectifying that right now by sharing Diesel’s Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook. The Italian brand enlists Belgian male model Florian Van Bael to show off its latest collection. Getting fired from an Abercrombie & Fitch shoot a couple of years ago certainly hasn’t hurt Florian’s career. Believe it or not, Van Bael was let go after being seen eating *gasp* a pastry on set. LOL. How hilarious is that?
This upcoming season, Diesel goes with a military aesthetic. From swimwear, tops and even blazers, camouflage patterns are used. Don’t worry if green isn’t your color. It’s not just the classic green camo we’re accustomed to, but rather it comes in blue hues, grey tones and optical white. As always, Diesel’s pieces have their signature rebellious flair. Check out the lookbook below.
