I’ve been in an athletic state of mind ever since writing last week’s Sports Stud. That Tal Evans is all kinds of hotness. Since I picked an Australian athlete slash model for that feature, I thought I’d head back Down Under and pick a model slash athlete for today’s Model Behavior.
Meet Aussie Max Papendieck. This former collegiate basketball player is now an in-demand male model. He moved from his native Australia to the US for a basketball scholarship. He began modeling in Miami where he also completed his business degree. The 25-year-old has worked with renowned photographers like Greg Vaughan and Bruce Weber. In fact, the latter got him his first gig – an editorial in Spanish Vogue.
Papendieck has appeared in campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, Ralph Lauren fragrance Big Pony and worked with major department stores like Macy’s and Saks. Currently, he’s repped by Soul Artist Management. Check out plenty of photos of Max showing off his Fight Club-ready abs below.
Underwear brands are a dime a dozen these days and so are shirtless boys parading around in briefs for that matter. That being said, I just had to write a post about ButtWrap. Not only is their name sorta adorable, but their tagline is all kinds of awesome- “Use Your Butt For Something Bigger!” I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean. LOL. Maybe something got lost in translation from German. Whatever its intention, it’s catchy and stands out, IMHO.
The styles are pretty American Apparel-like and the photos from the ad campaign need an injection of more sex appeal. See ES Collection as great examples. I’m sure they’ll get better in time. In the end, I admire anyone trying to make it from scratch. ButtWrapBerlin is a team of three friends and former colleagues: Wolfgang and Pinar from Berlin, and Joan from Barcelona who all used to work in the fashion industry. Check out their products and promotional photos below.
I’ve never heard of Comodo Square before, but glad I stumbled upon their Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign. The South Korean label has some really beautiful pieces. At least they look nice in the photos, but you never know until you see the fabric and construction up close. Either way, Grant Woolhead did a fantastic job of styling the shoot. I would wear almost every outfit featured.
Shot by photographer Bruno Staub, the campaign features top male model Travis Hanson sporting all the label’s looks. They range from refined formal and business attire to casual daytime looks. If you’re not a fan of skinny jeans or pants, the Spring line isn’t for you. There’s one shot of Hanson sporting a pair of ultra-tight green pants, you have to wonder if they were painted on. Check out the photos below, along with a video filmed by Nicholas Stini showcasing Travis Hanson in motion. SIGH.
Before Miley Cyrus shacked up with Aussie hottie Liam Hemsworth, this tasty dish was her main man. The former Hannah Montana star is a cute enough girl, but how she snags supremely hot guys is astonishing. While Liam is cute and comes with the perk of seeing big bro Chris Hemsworth at family outings, for me… Justin Gaston would be my first choice. If you follow my Man Crush series religiously, you might remember a feature I did of him back in 2010. Lots of pics of him wearing skimpy briefs ;)
The 24-year-old actor-model appears on the April 2013 issue of Tetu magazine. Snapped by photographer Dean Isidro, Gaston is one tasty
semen seamen in the nautical-inspired fashion spread. Everything he’s modeling in the editorial needs to be in my closet stat. The pieces worn by Justin are from Jean Paul Gaultier, H&M, Cotelac, John Varvatos and Lacoste to name a few. Check out photos from Justin’s appearance in the French publication below.
Since I have my Model Behavior series to feature male models, I typically try not to highlight them as a Man Crush. Sometimes though, I find one so attractive I have to crush on him hardcore. One such stunner is Marlon Teixeira. If you watch his latest video for Armani Exchange you’ll obsess over him as well.
The Brazilian stars in the company’s Spring 2013 campaign titled “Island Dwellers.” I’m assuming the video was shot by photographer Matthew Scrivens who also snapped the campaign. The clip features Marlon on a sandy beach in Turks and Caicos wearing a pair of AX pants hung extremely low on his hips. He then heads to an outdoor shower and the magic begins. The slow motion captures every drop of water caressing his toned tanned body. Whatever he’s selling, I’m buying. I definitely need a cold shower after watching this. Check it out below.
Here’s a title Rihanna probably never expected, nor wanted for that matter. The Barbadian singer’s “Skrillex” hairstyle has been voted the worst hair trend of the 21st century. She garnered 20% of the vote on the survey conducted by British hair care retailer Fabriah.com.
Personally, I kinda like the whole one side shaved long hair look. It looks great on the “Stay” singer and others including Cassie and Ellie Goulding. I’m not just saying that either because my current look is short all around with long hair on top ;)
“I am not at all surprised the ‘Skrillex’ look claimed the prize as the worst hair trend of the 21st Century. What is surprising, however, is the number of people still copying the style. I would never have imagined the haircut becoming so popular.” – Francesca Davies, a spokeperson for Fabriah.com
Coming in second in the poll was David Beckham’s cornrows with 19% of the vote. I definitely agree with that. It’s not a good look on the soccer player. Other celebrities making the dishonorable list include Justin Timberlake’s blond curly mane from his ‘N Sync days and Scarlett Johansson’s mullet. American Idol judge Nicki Minaj also made the cut for all her various colorful wigs. Check out the entire Top 10 list below.
There was a time I didn’t find Zac Efron attractive. In fact, I even wrote a post about it, “5 Guys Everyone Finds Smokin’ Hot… BUT Me.” Of course that was back in 2010. What a difference three years make. Now 25-years-old, Efron has matured into one fine looking man. He looks simply dashing for Flaunt magazine’s Men’s Spring Fashion 2013 issue shot by photographer Ruven Afanador.
What makes him even sexier, IMHO, is that he’s thankful for his past. While most young adults want to diss and distance themselves from projects that propelled them to teen superstars, the former Disney actor not only acknowledges his previous work but is thankful for it. Well done, Zac. I hate it when people get too big for their britches. In his interview with the publication, the The Lucky One actor talks about HSM, his quest to make good movies and how he doesn’t like to complain about his life. Check out photos and quotes from his issue below.
“But here’s the one thing about High School Musical, that a lot of people forget or don’t realize. It affected a lot of people, its resonance, culturally, was massive … and at the same time, it was in every sense of it, the luckiest break in the world. The wrong thing to do—and that’s what all these interviews now are trying to get me to say— is to turn on it, to like sh– on it, call it crap. But that’s insane. There are hundreds of people who began doing one thing when they were younger, who go on to develop and refine and shape their vision, as they get older, and other concerns—like fame, or money, take a back seat to other ones.”
Since I caught up with (Justice Joslin), the runner up for my 2012 Man Crush Showdown, earlier this week, I thought it was only fair to do the same for Tomas Skoloudik who place second in the 2012 Model Behavior Showdown.
Calliope tapped the Czech model to front their Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook. Skoloudik looks effortlessly handsome in the photos snapped at a beachfront setting. He especially looks great wearing the yellow striped shirt and even better without it. If you recall, before Tomas became an in-demand fashion model, he did some porn work back in the day. Congrats to him for his successful career change. Check out Tomas’ latest sizzling ad campaign below.
