Okay, This Is Nifty: 3D Pen

In: Charge It, Matt, Random Reads

There’s been some recent innovation in printers and some prototype 3D printers have come out, nothing over impressive and most take forever to create anything worth mentioning, but this… this is cool.

Currently a Kickstarter project, the 3Doodler is a pen that extrudes plastic that instantly hardens, creating a 3d sculpture of whatever you draw. You can draw on a surface and peel off a 2D object of literally draw in the air. Even though they’ve already reached way more than their goal, you can still preorder one pen with a bag of plastic for 75 bucks.

If anyone is wondering what to get me for St. Patrick’s Day, I would like a 3Doodler. In return I promise to draw you something really inappropriate and naturally 3 dimensional as a symbol of my gratitude. In all seriousness though, I’ll probably be buying one of these. Just to whip out and show people how I can sign cheques in 3D. Watch the video about the pen below.

Happy National Margarita Day

In: Charge It, Donovan

If it’s before noon and you’re craving a margarita today, clearly your body knows it’s National Margarita Day. Who knew there was a day specifically dedicated to celebrating the Mexican cocktail. I certainly didn’t. You’d think it would be closer to Cinco do Mayo than some random day in February. Oh well, at least there’s a good excuse to enjoy the cocktail without looking like an alcoholic.

Since our drink recipes posts do well, I reached out to our friends over at Sauza Tequila for some tasty cocktail suggestions. After all, the company is located in Tequila, a municipality of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Who better to ask? Check out a few of them below.

  • 1 can Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
  • 1 can Frozen Limeade
  • 1 can Water
  • 1 bottle Light Beer

Pour limeade and beer into a pitcher with ice. Fill limeade can with Sauza® Blue Silver and pour into pitcher. Finally, add a can of water, stir and enjoy. (Serves 9)

If you follow me on Twitter (@TommyD) or Instagram (@Tommy_D83), you will have noticed that I posted a picture of the motherload that I got from MARVEL COMICS in their latest shipment. If you missed it I’m going to post it at the end of this entry.

One of the books I got this time was the Avengers vs X-Men COLLECTED EDITION! This book is massive, honestly I was incredibly surprised and totally grateful to have gotten this gift. If you don’t know about AvX, it was the epic story of the return of the Phoenix force and how the X-Men think it was to help rebuild their mutant population after the devastation the Scarlet Witch created my whispering “No more mutants.” This sounds like something positive, however the Avengers know the Phoenix Force coming back to Earth will do nothing but wreak havoc on everything like it has in the past.

Crave Chocolate Liqueur Drink Recipes

In: Charge It, Donovan

If you’re living on the East Coast and experiencing extreme cold weather due to Winter Storm Nemo, you might appreciate this post. Anything to warm up that involves liquor is alright in my books. In fact, a few of us Homorazzi writers are up in Whistler this weekend celebrating WinterPRiDE 2013. Trust me when I say, we definitely sampled these drink recipes… responsibly of course.

John DeKuyper & Sons Crave is a new, premium chocolate liqueur that captures the luscious taste of chocolate and pairs it with three unexpected flavors: mint, chili and cherries. Each flavor delivers a decadent tasting experience, making it equally enjoyable when served over ice or as a distinctive addition in an array of cocktails. The brand is relatively new to the market. Their line of chocolate liqueurs launched in October 2012. I’ve sampled both the chili and cherry flavors. They’re both delicious. Check a trio of recipes below. It could be the perfect thing to cozy up to while watching tonight’s Grammys.

One of our readers told us about a brand called Slick It Up when out at a bar recently and he thought it’d be something Homorazzi readers might like. I checked it out the next day and loved it and I’m just now finally getting around to sharing it with you guys. Some of you may already be familiar with the brand, but that was my first introduction.

Aside from all of the fetish gear and apparel, the site features some pretty freaking amazing summer wear that will definitely have you standing out this summer. From Electric Leopard and Galaxy Shorts to “stroke and change” color sequin shorts, their selection is definitely not something you’ll see elsewhere.

I want all of it but I’m going to have to pace myself. Some of the items are pretty pricy, but that’s because no one else is making them and also because the material is expensive. Check out the photos and videos of the items that really got my attention below. I’ve also included a link to the site underneath, but be warned that because of the fetish wear, it’s NSFW. Enjoy!

Looking at these images made me reminisce over Brian and my trip to Italy a couple years back. One of the things I regret most from my time it Italia was not venturing to Tuscany and hitting up Florence. Instead, we headed over to Venice for one of our day trips from Rome. It was a bit underwhelming to say the least. That said, I’m sure I wouldn’t have seen guys as hot as Fabio Mancini cavorting around in their underwear in the Tuscan countryside had we taken the train to Florence- or as they, Firenze.

The Italian model is front and center of C-IN2 clothing’s latest ad campaign. Snapped by famed photographer Rick Day, Mancini smolders in the brand’s wide range of underwear styles using the beautiful landscape of Italy as a gorgeous backdrop. Check out Fabio below in numerous photos as he shows off new colors and styles from C-IN2, including Pop, Prime, Zen, Core and Grip.

The 70th Golden Globe Awards broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills tonight and I couldn’t be anymore excited. I’m such a sucker for all the Hollywood revelry, especially this particular one. Due to all the free-flowing alcohol, the Globes are one the most entertaining and unpredictable of them all. Add the hilarious tag team of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to the mix and it’s guaranteed to be a great time.

Since watching these live events is more fun with friends, I’m having a few people over. To get in the spirit of the Globes, we’ll also partake in enjoying some libations during the ceremony. Our friends at EFFEN Vodka sent over a few Hollywood-themed drink recipes for us to enjoy. Whether you’re watching the Globes solo, hosting a party or skipping the entire thing, definitely sample these tasty cocktails. As always, remember to drink responsibly.

Being close to the beach is where you want to be when being in Waikiki. All you want out of your stay is really easy access to sand, surf, and sun, and Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio is everything you want out of Location Location Location, and the fact that Prince Kuhio only has 601 rooms, as opposed to Hilton’s other hotel in Waikiki, which has close to 3000. In contrast to a lot of Hilton hotels, this really is their boutique side.

The beauty about being in such a bustling town like Waikiki is really the combination of old and new. You don’t want to be completely removed from such a beautiful culture, but the town itself has a great balance of a modern party town (trust), with some throwback to its roots. This was really the first thing I noticed when stepping into this Hilton property also, is how reflective it was of Waikiki itself in this respect. The sprawling lobby, although decorated head to toe in full blown Christmas at the time, was a great balance of old Hawaii, with its architecture, natural wood accents, and open air concept in the lobby, but with splashes of modernism everywhere you turned, including it’s beautiful meeting rooms, as well as their bar and restaurant.
