Fashion: Versace For H&M

In: Charge It, Fashion, Redd, Videos

Is this a coincidence that Lady Gaga has been dressed up in vintage Versace in her Edge of Glory video and at her appearance at the MMVA’s? I was totally wondering… is Versace back in? The gaudy prints, the straps and golden buckles. I’m kind of interested at what this collection for H&M will look like.

Donatella Versace says she’s gonna use iconic Versace pieces. “Of course there’s going to be prints, of course there’s going to be leather, of course there’s gonna be studs. It’s going to be glamorous, exciting, rock ‘n’ roll.”

The VERSACE for H&M! collection will be available from November 17th 2011, in some 300 stores around the world, as well as on-line. This glamorous rock’n roll collection will include iconic Versace pieces for both women and men, in gold, leather and colorful prints. There will be some belts, jewelry and even a few Home cushions and bed linen.

Bank Of Canada: The New $100 Note

In: Charge It, Redd, Videos

What are the benefits of this new “Polymer Notes“? I could think of one thing off the bat, they won’t disintegrate when you run your money through the wash (I’m not talking about money laundering) specially if you’ve left them in your pant pockets. I’ve done this a few times and the money tends to fall apart specially if it’s a particularly old note.

  • Secure: Their leading-edge security features are easy to verify and hard to counterfeit
  • Durable: They last at least 2.5 times longer than paper notes, reducing processing and replacement costs and environmental impact
  • Innovative: The detailed metallic imagery carried in a transparent area of the notes makes for one-of-a-kind currency
  • Easy to Handle: The new notes feel different from paper notes, but are just as simple to use

Check out the video which explains it’s security features and design on the next part of the post.

The Look: City Street Summer

In: Charge It, Fashion, Redd

The street summer look can be worn in many different ways depending on how you put each piece together. The basic components are a ballcap, a graphic tee or a tank top, denim shorts (usually folded just above the knee) and hi-top sneakers.

The ballcap is usually sports team oriented and worn with a flat brim. You know back in the day when you would curve the brim of a baseball hat? Although still popular, the flat brim style is usually preferred with this look. (Above: $25 to $45 both from Lids.ca)

New Releases Out This Week: June 13th

In: Charge It, Movies, Music, Tyrell

This week’s featured new release gives us one of our favorite fairy tale, revamped for this generation. I’m talking about Red Riding Hood. This film features the acting styles of Amanda Seyfried, Lukas Haas and Max Irons.

Valerie (Seyfried) is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Oldman), to help them kill the wolf.

But Solomon’s arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. As panic grips the town, Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast–one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect…and bait. EFFEN Black Cherry Vodka: Deliciously Fruity

In: Charge It, Donovan

About a month ago, I wrote about EFFEN’s tasty cucumber-flavored vodka. Being the thorough person that I am, I thought I’d check out what else they offered and see how it stacked up. I decided to go with EFFEN Black Cherry and their non-flavored one for taste comparison. Once again, I thought I’d offer it to a few friends while I cooked dinner. At least that way, if my meal wasn’t the most delectable, my guests wouldn’t notice because they were a little inebriated. I kid, my meal was a culinary delight. I’m turning into quite the chef as of late, if I do say so myself.

The one thing I loved about EFFEN Cucumber was it was the perfect summer adult treat. It tasted like summer in a bottle but with a kick. With such a great first impression to the EFFEN brand, I was worried EFFEN Black Cherry wouldn’t live up. Fear not, the black cherry flavor was absolutely tasty as well. Almost too good if you ask me. I ended up drinking more than my fair share because it went down so smoothly. That was especially true when I paired it with Coke. Not kidding, it tasted exactly like Cherry Coke but 70 proof. If you’re a bit more high brow and like your cocktails a little fancier, check out this drink recipe provided by EFFEN.
