Just riding my bike home yesterday through a few different neighborhoods, as my route takes me, I noticed a common thread in the newly summerish air no matter what part of town I was in. Barbecue (or barbaquoi as Chloe Sevigny would say)! That’s right. It’s the time of year where whether beached or patio’d, you bust out the grill for your favourite hunk of meat or fish and give your meal that smokey goodness that weather like this screams for.

Depending on whether you’re grilling a white fish and want a white, or whether you’re used to your big chewy Cabernet for that prime rib, we all have our favourites for this time. Maybe though, just maybe, you’re missing out on your new favourite big red for said cuisine, and you just don’t know it. That grape could be Bonarda.

BREAKING NEWS: Here is the official press video where Anna Dello Russo talks about the up-coming special collection of accessories for H&M. She also shows around some of her favorite inspirations in her private home.

Anna Dello Russo’s H&M collection is available from October 4, 2012, at the peak of the global fashion weeks tour, in around 140 stores worldwide and online. The collection features jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags and a trolley.

Not too long ago, I wrote about the extremely sexy Todd Sanfield‘s new book called Hotel | Motel by photographer Kevin McDermott. Now, two worlds have collided with the sexy Benjamin Godfre endorsing and literally stripping down for Todd Sanfield’s underwear line.

In the following video, Godfre is in Todd Sanfield Underwear and talking to the camera through a mirror as someone else films (It looks like he’s in a hotel room). He lists the reasons why he likes the underwear and why he’ll be wearing them all the time now. That being said, towards the end, he mentions that there’s one problem. When he’s wearing the underwear, he’s not naked. So, he changes that.

In my fantasy, Todd Sanfield is actually filming Godfre in this video and after filming is done… Anyway, enjoy the video below.

Listen, I get it. The sun comes out, the weather warms up, and you go to the liquor store and reach for that bottle of Pinot Grigio: a bottle of Santa Margarita or maybe a litre of Bolla, depending on our price range (or level of class). You even go to New Zealand and grab your Oyster Bay or Kim Crawford. Summer is just around the corner and you want that cold acidic crisp glass of white. It’s refreshing. But next time you’re in the Italian section especially, look around, ’cause there’s some cool varietals that no one talks about because most don’t know about them.

One of those grapes is Arneis, and I just have such a heart on for it because of it’s uniqueness.

This little gem comes from Piedmont, a northern region of Italy known on one side for giving us delicious Nebbiolo grapes that bring us Barolo and Barbaresco, and on the other hand delicious sparkling Moscato called Asti. Somewhere in the middle sits our little Arneis, a dry and full bodied white wine, crisp and floral, delicious and just plum different. Why different? Instead of the huge citrus and grapefruit flavours and scents you get from the aforementioned whites you might be reaching for, you get a ton more nutty, floral notes from Arneis. Don’t know if you like that? Well you just might, so try it!

I’m excited about SKMPEEZ new styles for Spring Summer 2012. Not to mention they’ve also revamped their website. I’ve loved the designs and fit of this company from day one and they have been great friends of mine. I’m all about supporting Canadian businesses and the best part is they are based here in Toronto.

They new swimsuit styles are to die for specially the new BANDZ style which is a leaner cut than their previous styles and features a 2″ waistband which is super sexy! I’m off to Miami for Easter weekend and I am definitely gonna sport my BANDZ ZAP style swimsuit on the beach.

They’ve also ventured into men’s underwear, aptly names UNDEEZ and not only are the styles great but they are also very very comfortable. Trust me, I know. I have 2 pairs and I’m loving the stretchy fabric and wide waistband.

In honor of Mad Men’s long-awaited Season 5 premiere tonight, I thought sharing some cocktail recipes would be a perfect way to celebrate the return of the Emmy-award winning show. Expert mixologist and Drambuie brand ambassador Anthony Caporale, has created several modern day twists on drinks enjoyed by Don Draper, Joan Holloway et al.  

As any true “Mad Men” aficionado knows, Don’s signature drink is an Old Fashioned. For an updated spin on this classic cocktail, Caporale replaced the typical bourbon base and replaced it with the whisky-based Drambuie. All of the recipes below feature Drambuie’s secret concoction of scotch whiskies, honey and blend of herbs and spices. Check them out and enjoy tonight’s premiere with style. Happy drinking.
