So I arrived in Toronto on Monday, April 25th and I’ve just been busy getting to know the city so I don’t get so lost & setting things up for my new apartment which I get the keys for today!
Because I did a major purge of my things before I left. I now have to purchase a few things here to get me started.
I purchased a nice pillow-top queen bed which is being delivered on Monday. I can’t wait because for the last few years in Vancouver, I’ve been sleeping in a murphy (wall) bed and because this was built into my studio apartment, it could only hold a double mattress. It’s going to be so nice to sleep in a bed larger than a double and one that I don’t have to lift up into the wall every morning.
On my last day at my old job in Vancouver, my co-workers had a going away lunch for me and gave me a gift certificate for IKEA to get me started with some necessities so I used it to buy some new pillows, linens and a bunch of little things for the apartment. It was very nice of them… I miss them already.
I’ve been checking out Future Shop for LED TV’s because they use only a fraction of what LCD & Plasma flat panels do. I can’t decide whether to go for a 40″ or a 46″. What do you think? Here are my 2 choices mainly because of the price. If anyone wants to sponsor my TV let me know ;)
The countdown begins as the reality of my big move sets in. I’m happy we found a great person as my replacement at work, it will take time to get settled into the position and get the hang of things but I am confident that she can do it. Although our skill sets are a little different, she learns fast, so this next week will be spend training and imparting trade secrets. The past few weeks have been a bit stressful specially dealing with having to look for a new apartment remotely. I’m glad though I could count on my friend Jeff (who knows me super well) and we found a great apartment on the 14th floor of an ultra brand new swanky 40+ storey condo in the Yonge & Bloor area. Did I mention this place had a sweet outdoor pool? I know where I’ll be spending most of my time come Summer.
I don’t know about you, but after Lady Caca’s lackluster single “Born This Way,” I was kind of wondering, “Where the F%$k is Beyoncé?
A snippet of her new single “Girls” [Who Rule The World] has hit the internet and has caused quite a stir. I am so ready for more BeyBey! Bring it on! This will be part of Beyonce’s fourth studio album, titled “B Revolution”. In the song, you can here a sample of “Pon De Floor” by Major Lazer.
Listen to the snippets in the next part of the post.
How cool is this bowl?! It’s so true though… the moment you pour your milk (or non-dairy beverage) onto your crispy cereal, you try to scarf it down as fast as you can to avoid sogginess. Well, not anymore with this bowl, you can take your time on a lazy Sunday morning sitting on the patio enjoying every crunchy bite of your favourite cereal (Count Chocula for me, finally no more soggy marshmallows)!
Not only is it for cereal but it also works for milk & cookies, crackers & soup and endless combinations of your favourite foods.
Obol® is The Original Crispy Bowl® that solves the problem of soggy cereal. With the unique Swoop n Scoop®, the Obol makes every bite as crispy as the first bite. The Spiral Slide design makes it possible to enjoy your cereal until the last bite. You can set the Obol down to write an email or answer the phone knowing your cereal will never get soggy. The easy to hold, textured non-slip grip and rim makes it easy to eat anywhere. It’s perfect for eating in bed or while watching a movie. Kids love it! The Obol is great for crispy crackers with soup.

So you’ve invested a hefty sum for an amazing pair of raw denim jeans enough for a down-payment for a house in the suburbs and the sales associate cautions you to NEVER wash them. But what is one to do when their denim gets dirty? FREEZE it! Yes, according to an ABC news report, apparently this method kills bacteria & is just as effective as washing them with soap and water. Not only does this kill bacteria, it also prevents your denim from fading and significantly reduces the wear and tear that you would normally get from the friction of washing them. So your dark denims will keep their super dark colour for years to come.
