Is it me, or does every character Melissa McCarthy play kinda the same? Don’t get it twisted, I think she’s hilarious, but a little variety would be nice. But I suppose, if it ain’t broke, why bother fixing it, right?

The 45-year-old actress plays a powerful and insanely rich, but not incredibly nice woman in The Boss. She finds herself penniless after being sent to prison for insider trading. When she exits jail, she lives with her former employee played by Kristen Bell. McCarthy concocts a new scheme to regain her wealth after taking Bell’s daughter to a Girl Scouts-like meeting.

Kathy Bates, Kristen Schaal and Peter Dinklage also star in the upcoming comedy. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on April 9, 2016. Check out the amusing clip below. I LOL’d a few times. No lie. Hopefully, all the good parts aren’t featured in the movie trailer.

Carly Rae Jepsen Covers Wham’s Last Christmas

In: Donovan, Music

Carly Rae Jepsen loves the 80s. That’s for sure!!! Her underrated album, Emotion, included plenty of tracks clearly inspired by the decade. What better way to cap off her latest era by covering one of the most beloved Christmas songs written during that time.

Last Christmas” was originally recorded by Wham! in 1984. Since then, the George Michael-penned track has been covered numerous times by the likes of Ariana Grande, Hilary Duff, Coldplay, Savage Garden and Carrie Underwood to name a few.

Jepsen’s rendition stays pretty true to the original version but gives it a modern update. It’s a bit tropical with fun saxophone elements. Give the track a listen below. Hopefully, a whimsical clip is on its way.

Another celebrity has married his longtime partner.

Nathan Lane and producer-playwright Devlin Elliott wed earlier this week. People confirms the couple of 18 years married in a small ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday.

In addition to tying the knot, the two recently collaborated together professionally. They worked on a children’s book titled Naughty Mabel, based on their pet French bulldog.

Lane can next be seen in American Crime Story playing OJ Simpson’s lawyer, F. Lee Bailey.

Congrats to the happy couple.

Meghan Trainor has released four official singles off her debut LP, Title. Three of which have cracked the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10. Surprisingly, the title track hasn’t received the same treatment. That is, until now.

The music video for “Title” has finally arrived. It finds the 21-year-old singer hosting a Mr. America beauty pageant. She shimmies and plays the ukulele as attractive men strut their stuff alongside her. Overall, it’s a cute visual.

I get the sense though her camp isn’t entirely happy it found its way online. It’s nowhere to be found on Trainor’s Vevo or official outlets, and has been removed off unauthorized video channels. Check it out below, before this clip gets yanked.

When American Idol returns for its swan song in January 2016, a few familiar faces might pop by. Ryan Seacrest reveals that past and present judges will be together again to bid adieu to the long-running singing competition.

“I’ve spoken to all of them recently and we as a team have talked to them about coming back to do something for the final season,” Seacrest told Access Hollywood on Thursday.”They are going to do it, it’s just a matter of figuring what to do with them.”

While I was fully expecting the original threesome, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson would return for the farewell season, I’m actually a bit surprised all the former judges are open to a reunion.

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj had a fiery feud during their time on the show. To boot, both ladies along with Ellen DeGeneres have commented that they’ve regretted sitting on the panel. Nonetheless, it would be great for everyone to reunite on stage.

Excited to see all the judges return to their former stomping grounds? Does anyone even remember Kara DioGuardi? I kid. Weigh in below.

When he strikes gold, Dick Wolf loves to spin-off his shows. Law & Order spawned Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Trial by Jury and Law & Order: LA. A reality version is even in the works from the 68-year-old producer.

His latest, Chicago franchise, is quickly catching up. Chicago Fire premiered first with Chicago P.D. following shortly thereafter. The latest installment, Chicago Med, just premiered this week. With it scoring solid ratings, I wouldn’t be surprised if NBC ordered up another spin-off from Wolf.

If they’re stuck which of the Windy City’s public servants they should put the spotlight on next, might I suggest this Funny or Die sketch. Since Wolf loves to recycle, perhaps waste management should be his next inspiration.

Sam Page and Derek Theler star in FOD’s Chicago Sanitation. Check out the hilarity below. “You sort garbage better than anyone on this team, so why can’t you sort out your life?,” is just one of the gems in this parody.

Party Favors” was the first taste off her forthcoming sophomore studio album, Joyride, but Tinashe debuted a music video for her Chris Brown-assisted “Player” first. The sultry urban jam finally gets an accompanying visual and a sexy one at that.

The 22-year-old rising talent hosts a very sexy affair. Girlfriend sucks on a lollipop like no other while boozing it up and dancing seductively with her friends. It’s a bit “Go Deep” Janet Jackson meets “Criminal” Fiona Apple, but saucier.

Check out the clip below. Interestingly enough, Young Thug who’s featured on the track is MIA in the clip. Guess someone wasn’t invited to the party 😉

Preview Mariah Carey’s Christmas Movie For Hallmark

In: Donovan, Music

The holidays are a very lucrative time for Mariah Carey. The royalties she receives from her ubiquitous Yuletide ditty “All I Want for Christmas Is You” must be astronomical. It was only a matter of time before the 45-year-old diva expanded her repertoire to cash in more during the holiday season.

Carey not only appears in A Christmas Melody but it also marks her directorial debut. The film follows a divorced mom (Lacey Chabert) who returns to Ohio with her daughter after closing down her Manhattan boutique. She finds herself running into her former high school rival Melissa played by Carey.

Brennan Elliott and Kathy Najimy also star. A Christmas Melody airs Saturday Dec. 19 at 8/7c on the Hallmark channel. Check out the trailer below.
