NBC Reveals The Coaches For The Voice Season 8

In: Donovan, TV Shows

The battle rounds for The Voice Season 7 have just started airing, but NBC has already assembled the coaching panel for Season 8. Typically, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green would’ve reclaimed their red swivel chairs for Season 7 but due to Aguilera’s pregnancy and Green’s legal troubles, producers brought in newbies Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams to take over Shakira and Usher.

With so many coaches to pick from, would producers create a new combination or bring in new judges? More importantly, will permanent fixtures Adam Levine and Blake Shelton remain on the panel? Find out thew new lineup after the jump.

FOX Developing TV Series Based On Monster In Law

In: Donovan, Movies, TV Shows

Hollywood sure does love to recycle. Reboots, remakes and adaptations are all the rage these days. Several films are currently being developing into possible television series. Some examples include projects based on Rush Hour, Mortal Instruments, Guardians Of The Galaxy and Resident Evil.

Cameron Crowe’s Say Anything was also on the docket but was nixed after both Crowe and star John Cusack blasted it via Twitter. Now comes word that the romantic comedy Monster In Law starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda is the latest feature film possibly headed to the small screen in the near future.

It pays to have Ellen DeGeneres on your side. Especially if you want a part in Magic Mike XXL.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who’s frequently the guest DJ on her daytime talk show, already has a gig in the highly-anticipated sequel. DeGeneres even waxed his extremely buff torso on camera in preparation for his role. Her sexy gardener Nick, aka Bill Reilich, has now booked a role in the film.

A couple of weeks ago, DeGeneres blindsided one of the film’s producer into taking an impromptu meeting with Reilich. It appears it was all worth it. Channing Tatum called Ellen while filming to tell Bill the great news.

“Nick! What’s up man?” Channing said. “After careful inspection of your ab region, we have deducted that we need you in Magic Mike XXL.”

I wonder if his ab region was the only part of Bill’s anatomy Channing and the powers-that-be checked out. Recently, alleged nude pics of Bill have surfaced. Let’s just he doesn’t disappoint in any department.

Check out Bill learning about his big break below, along with more shirtless photos. I’ve embedded the video of Ellen waxing tWitch as well for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.

You know the script must be horrendous if Hugh Grant is leaving a project because of it. Like him but let’s face it… he’s not exactly super busy these days.

The 54-year-old actor has been keen on reprising his role of Daniel Cleaver ever since a third Bridget Jones film was announced back in 2011. Since then it’s been in pre-production hell with numerous script rewrites. He revealed why he left the film in a recent interview. Read it below.

Taylor Swift Debuts ‘Out Of The Woods’ In Full

In: Donovan, Music

Taylor Swift’s first full pop album titled 1989 is only two weeks away. The first iTunes Countdown Single has been released in full after Swift teased it on Good Morning America on Monday.

Out Of The Woods” is an 80’s-influenced pop mid-tempo track produced and co-written by f.u.n.’s Jack Antonoff. Within just a few minutes of its release, the 24-year-old’s latest offering has already hit the top of the iTunes chart.

Even though Taylor previously claimed her new album would be unlike her previous LPs and not about romance and heartbreak, it appears she was serving a side of BS. “Out of the Woods” is about a troubled relationship, and not just any, but about her brief fling with One Direction’s Harry Styles. Give it a listen below.

“This song is about the fragility and kind of breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where I was kind of, living day to day, wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day,” Taylor says about the song. “It was a relationship where you, kind of, never feel like you’re standing on solid ground.”

Happy Thanksgiving To Our Canadian Readers

In: Behind The Cast, Donovan

Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving a full month before our US counterparts. A few of my American friends find it odd that we enjoy Turkey Day before Halloween. Personally, I love having a greater gap between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Makes for a much longer and enjoyable holiday season.

Over the weekend, Brian and I held our third annual Friendsgiving dinner. It’s one of my favorite parties I hold the entire year. I definitely paid the price Sunday ;) Everyone gets in the spirit and brings a tasty dish and bottles of wine. Since we moved my office upstairs of our downtown condo, we held dinner downstairs for the first time. It was quite nice not having to lug up all the dishes and drinks up and down the stairs throughout the night.

Check out a couple of photos from the night below. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating the holiday today. Feel free to follow me on Instagram.

First Look At The Following Season 3

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Season 2 of The Following wasn’t nearly as addicting as its first. The FOX drama definitely suffered the dreaded sophomore slump, IMHO. I’m hopeful it rebounds for Season 3.

During its panel at New York Comic Con on Sunday, a teaser trailer was shared by producers. The quick preview shows Ryan Hardy, happy, and giving a toast at a his lesbian colleague’s wedding. The video ends immediately as a knife-wielding follower begins his attack.

There are no shots of Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) or surviving psycho twin Mark (Sam Underwood) in sight, but Carroll is one hundred percent back, albeit locked up. Season 3 picks up one year after season 2 but flashbacks will be shown to catch viewers up. Bacon gets a new love interest in the form of Lost alum Zuleikha Robinson. His niece (Jessica Stroup) is also happily in love but not with Shawn Ashmore.

Check out the teaser below. The Following premieres on FOX in 2015.

FX Renews American Horror Story For Fifth Season

In: Donovan, TV Shows

FX has only aired one episode of the latest season of American Horror Story, but it’s already renewed it for a fifth season. Not surprising given that Freak Show set a record as the most-watched TV episode in the network’s history. It generated 10 million total viewers (6.54 million 18-49), according to Live+3 numbers, besting Coven‘s numbers last year of 7.27 million by 38 percent.

Ryan Murphy teased he planted clues for Season 5′s theme in the first two episodes of Freak Show. Some fans predict it could revolve around aliens given this year’s locale of Jupiter and Jessica Lange’s character’s last name of Mars. Do you have any theories?

Speaking of Lange, she previously stated the fourth installment of the popular FX anthology would be her last. Murphy recently revealed he’s hopefully he could convince Jessica to change her tune. Would the show be the same without Lange? Sound off below.
