Joy Behar Returns To The View To Co-Host

In: Donovan, TV Shows
joh-behar-the-view-returns

It’s common knowledge that Season 18 of The View has been one hot mess despite being touted initially as a rebuilding one. Producers are starting from scratch and also looking to the past for Season 19.

Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris, Michelle Collins and Raven-Symone have all been added to join Whoopi Goldberg as co-hosts. In a surprising twist, a former panelist is being brought back to the mix.

Joy Behar who appeared on the show from Seasons 1-16 is returning to the show. YOWZA!!! Unlike Sherri Shepherd who is also returning but only as a contributor, Behar will be a full-fledged co-host. Check out the 72-year-old’s statement below about her homecoming.

The music business is a cutthroat one. For the upcoming black comedy, Kill Your Friends, things actually become murderous.

The Owen Harris-directed crime thriller is based on John Niven’s 2008 novel of the same name. Set in London during the late 90s when Britpop bands Blur, Oasis and The Verve ruled the airwaves, Nicholas Hoult plays an A&R rep trying to make a name for himself in the music biz. Fueled by greed, ambition and inhuman quantities of drugs, he lives the dream, as he searches for his next hit record. He’ll stop at nothing to further his career.

Rosanna Arquette, James Corden, Craig Roberts and Georgia King round out the cast. Kill Your Friends makes its debut at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and then hits theaters on November 6. Check out the trailer below.

After a greatest hits compilation and delivering a baby, Carrie Underwood is back with a brand new album. Looking better than ever might I add. The 32-year-old American Idol winner looks beyond stunning in her newly-released music video and in the cover art for her forthcoming fifth studio LP, Storyteller. Motherhood definitely agrees with her.

Smoke Break” is the first taste off her new effort. Carrie stays true to the formula that’s made her a country superstar. It’s a feel-good rockin’ country anthem. It’s all about letting your hair down and unwinding after hard times.

Interestingly though, there’s not one person lighting up a cigarette in the accompanying visual. Underwood drives down Nashville roads en route to a gig while vignettes of individuals embodying the song’s lyrics are shown. Check out the Randee St. Nicholas-directed clip below.

Mother’s Day was a few months ago and it’s not Diana Ross’ birthday anytime soon but Tracee Ellis Ross decided to pay homage to her legendary mother this past weekend. The black-ish actress recreated one of Ross’ most iconic music videos, nearly frame by frame.

“Often in today’s images (moving and still), we are being objectified or we objectifying ourselves. I think it is meant to be an empowered act, a reclaiming of our bodies.”

“I decided to recreate the video and try to feel the joy of being in my body while offering up tribute to my glorious mother,” Ellis Ross shared on her website. “I hope it inspires you to find and be in the joy of your own body!”

Clearly, Tracee Ellis is the lucky recipient of her mother’s genes in the physique department. She can work her body like her mama. Check out both versions of the “Work That Body” video below.

Since 2005, Rafael Nadal has won at least one major title every year. With only one grand slam event left in 2015, the 29-year-old tennis player is at risk of ending his impressive streak.

Who knows how he’ll fare at the US Open, but one thing is for certain. He’s a winner in Tommy Hilfiger’s eyes. The designer chose the Spanish athlete to front his brand’s new underwear campaign.

“Because we’re so global now, Rafael Nadal resonates globally in most countries in the world. He also looks amazing in the underwear and the clothes. He’s not doctored up, that’s the real guy.” Hilfiger told WWD

If you’re a fan of Nadal, you’ll be happy to know he reportedly signed a two-year contract with the label. Check out more images of Rafael in his undies below. Hopefully, the next batch will feature some briefs action.

Katherine Heigl Joins Laverne Cox Drama Pilot

After the one and done series run of State of Affairs, Katherine Heigl is taking another stab at a comeback. The 36-year-old actress is switching networks, though, in hopes of a different outcome.

Heigl heads over to CBS to star in the upcoming legal drama, Doubt. If the show name sounds familiar, this isn’t the first attempt. The eye network greenlit a pilot last year, but didn’t pick up the series for their upfronts presentation. Instead of ditching it completely, CBS decided to recast some key roles.

Calvin Harris Tops Forbes Highest-Paid DJs List Again

The Scottish producer once again tops Forbes annual Highest-Paid DJs list. With a substantial gap between himself and the runner-up slot, Calvin Harris isn’t loosening his grip on the No. 1 spot anytime soon.

Thanks to a hit album, high-paid gigs and lucrative endorsements, Harris raked in $66 million the past twelve months. Coming in at a distant second place was David Guetta who raked in $37 million. Rounding out the Top 3 is Dutch DJ Tiesto.

Speaking of the Dutch, the Netherlands was well-represented with three DJs in the Top 10. Sadly though, not one woman made the cut. Forbes did mention that sister duos Nervo and Krewella came close.

Overall, the Top 10 DJs took in $274 million combined. When compared to the Top 10 in 2012, it’s more than double. Then, the higher tier of DJs earned $116 million. Check out this year’s top-earning electronic kings below.

Ben Higgins Officially Named As The Bachelor

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Bachelor nation, meet your Season 20 Bachelor.

It’s not exactly earth-shattering news. Though, props to ABC and Chris Harrison for trying to trick us with that stunt on After Paradise. Perennial runner-up Nick Viall sat with Harrison discussing his quest for love. After a quick exchange, Viall left the couch and along came Ben Higgins.

Higgins was the clear front-runner the second Kaitlyn Bristowe let him go. He was a fan favorite all season long. The only thing that was potentially preventing him from getting the coveted spot was his age. At 26-years-old, the software salesman is one of the youngest Bachelors ever. Season 5’s Jesse Palmer was also 26. Both are five years younger than the average Bachelor age of 31.

Even though he’s on the younger side, Higgins comes off very mature and level-headed. In fact, he reminds me of another well-liked recent Bachelor- Sean Lowe. He was only two years younger at 28 and he’s only one of two to walk down the aisle from the men’s side of the franchise.

Are you happy that Ben H. got the slot over Viall, Ben Z, Josh Murray and other rumored candidates? Personally, I was hoping Chris ‘cupcake’ Strandberg would get the gig. The dentist is beyond cute. Check out a couple shirtless pics of Ben below.
