We all know the saying, “the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.” I’m betting that applies wholeheartedly to this week’s Model Behavior feature, Minkah Davidson. He’s all kinds of sexy. Those lips probably taste as sweet as brown sugar. Davidson is relatively new to the fashion industry but has already built a solid resume.
The 6’1″ stud has walked the runway for designers Jeremy Scott, Ian Velardi, Calvin Klein and John Bartlett to name a few. His editorial credits include appearances for a NY Times spread shot by Greg Vaughan and Lash Magazine. Currently he’s repped by Soul Artist Management. Check out a sampling of his portfolio below.
Hardcore fans of American Idol will remember Leah LaBelle from Season 3. Back then she auditioned as Leah Vladowski but opted for a more stage-friendly LaBelle for the rest of the competition. Then 16-years-old, she made the Top 12 due to being Paula Abdul’s wildcard pick. Her luck ran out the following week when she was the first voted out. Almost a decade later, the 26-year-old is about to release her debut album.
“Lolita” is the second track from her upcoming Epic Records debut. It’s a follow-up to her well-received lead cut, “Sexify.” Produced by Pharrell, it’s a fun seductive R&B track. The Diane Martel-directed music video is a little budget and borderline creepy with the very young looking boys parading around shirtless, but I’m loving the track. I guess the imagery falls in line with Vladimir Nabokov’s novel. The single definitely deserves a little mainstream love. Check it out below.
Things on The Hunger Games sequel have been relatively quiet lately. What better way to grab a bit of press by releasing a brand new poster. Lionsgate has previously released a motion poster, a series of Victory Tour artwork, and the first official trailer.
The newest promotional material shows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) standing atop a mountain with a bow and arrow, naturally, in her hand. Loving how the clouds behind Katniss resemble mockingjay-like wings. I haven’t read the books, but the tagline (“The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand”) is reportedly from the opening passages of the second book.
What do you think of the new artwork? Excited for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire to hit theaters on November 22? Sound off below.
After FOX and NBC presented at the Fall 2013 Upfronts, it was the alphabet network’s turn. Out of the three major broadcast networks to show off their new shows, IMHO I think ABC has the strongest chance of scoring breakout hits. Not only do they have the highly-anticipated Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but they also have the Once Upon A Time spinoff and Rebel Wilson’s foray to series to television.
The biggest reveal though from ABC is the fact they’re cutting the Dancing With The Stars results show. Does this mean the judges will have more control, will there be fewer contestants and exactly how will this affect eliminations? ABC didn’t reveal too much at the presentation, so we’ll have to wait til Fall. If you’re a fan of the results show, tonight’s results show will be your last taste of it.
The dramas I’m looking most forward to are the aforementioned Marvel show, the OUAT spinoff, Lucky 7- about a group of gas station lottery winners- and Resurrection- about a boy presumed dead who reappears years later as the same age. Too bad, the latter isn’t on the schedule til midseason. It looks way better than Betrayal which received the coveted post-Revenge slot. Out of the comedies, clearly I’m excited for Rebel’s Super Fun Night and Mixology which comes from the creators of the Hangover films. Check out all the trailers below and be sure to comment on which show you’re most excited to sample.
The annual main event, Broadway Bares 23: The United Strips of America, isn’t until June 23, but the boys gave a little preview last week at XL Nightclub in NYC. Broadway Bares: Solo Strips sees a dozen chorus boys from Broadway’s hottest shows to perform scorching hot solo routines. A few of the men featured include Matt Anctil (La Cage Aux Folles), Patrick Boyd (Grease), Peter Nelson (Cinderella), Matthew Rossoff (Jesus Christ Superstar), Dennis Stowe (Annie) and Sheldon Tucker (Bring It On: The Musical). About $13,177 was raised for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Broadway Bares: Solo Strips is a sexy tease for Broadway Bares, one of BC/EFA’s annual signature events. This year’s racy, road trip-themed edition, Broadway Bares 23: United Strips of America, will feature 200 of New York’s most desirable dancers discovering — and uncovering — amber waves and mountain majesties that only Broadway Bares could find. Broadway Bares 23: United Strips of America will be held Sunday, June 23 with two performances only at 9:30 pm & midnight at Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Check out the highlights from the Solo Strips show below.
In conjunction with Norton AntiVirus, Warner Bros just released three brand new behind-the-scenes featurettes for Man of Steel. Naturally, when you think of strength and fortitude, the software company is the first thing that comes to mind. At least that’s what they’re hoping for. Each featurette focuses on a specific superpower Superman possesses- strength, flight and speed. In addition to the footage of members of the cast and crew talking about the film, a fifth TV spot also debuted. Check out all the clips below.
British actor Nicholas Hoult appears in the latest issue of Flaunt Magazine. After checking out his editorial in the publication’s Fabrication Issue, it’s easy to see how Jennifer Lawrence fell for him. His blue eyes are intoxicating. She’ll definitely have to restrain herself as the two reunite to film X-Men: Days of Future Past in Montreal.
Photographer Thomas Giddings snapped the 23-year-old for a beautiful fashion spread. In the accompanying interview, Hoult discusses his work in Warm Bodies and Jack and the Giant Slayer, and his role in the upcoming X-Men sequel. He also defines honesty, shares his thoughts on family and talks dropping trou’ at the photo shoot. Check out the photos below. For more Nicholas Hoult, head over to Flaunt magazine.
Diddy dissolved Danity Kane in 2009, but it looks like the Making The Band-created girl group might be reuniting… and without their former leader. When TMZ photographers asked if Diddy was going to be involved in their reported reunion, Aubrey O’Day responded, “Who’s that?” They might want to check to see who owns the name “Danity Kane” though. I’m sure if Diddy isn’t involved with the project, there’s no way he’s letting them use it. The bad blood between O’Day and him is well documented. I’m sure her firing from the band had something to do with the tension.
TMZ spotted the group’s four out of five members – Aubrey O’Day, Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex & Aundrea Fimbres having lunch with a new manager at The Grove in L.A. It is unknown whether fifth member D. Woods was just absent or not in the supposed reunion.
Danity Kane released two studio albums during their time together. Both of which hit No. 1 on Billboard Top 200 and achieved platinum status. Check out the TMZ footage below, along with my favorite track from the girl group.
