Avril Lavigne Debuts Cringeworthy Hello Kitty Video

In: Donovan, Music

Hey Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani called. She wants her Harajuku girls back. That’s not the only thing of Gwen’s that the Canadian singer drew inspiration from. For a hot second around the 2:00 minute mark, “Hello Kitty” sounds an awful lot like “Hollaback Girl.” Maybe it’s just me. The track is the fourth single off her self-titled album which peaked at No. 5 on Billboard 200 last year.

Lavigne made it abundantly clear on “Here’s to Never Growing Up” that she’s not quite ready to grow up. But with 30 just around the corner, might I suggest she pick more age-appropriate wear. The colorful ballerina-looking skirts are getting a little sad. It’s like a 40-year-old guy wearing a graphic A&F tee, right?

In the clip, Avril visits a candy store, has sushi for dinner and interacts with locals on the streets of Japan while singing about the popular fictional Sanrio character. Check out the cringeworthy visual below.

Michael F. Egan rocked Hollywood last week with his claim that Bryan Singer sexually abused him when he was a minor. Since the allegations surfaced, the X-Men: Days of Future Past director has canceled two scheduled appearances. He was supposed to appear at last weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, but bowed up. Next month he was scheduled to attend an MPAA symposium in Washington, DC but canceled that as well. In addition to that, his name has been removed from promos advertising ABC’s Black Box which Singer executive produced.

The 31-year-old plaintiff dropped more bombs on Monday by naming three additional men who took part in a “Hollywood sex ring.” Egan’s lawyer Jeff Herman presented the additional claims Monday during a press conference held in Beverly Hills. Similar charges were filed to these men.

Miguel’s Sexy Collaboration With Santana

In: Donovan, Music

When Santana finds the right singer to team up with, magic happens. His collaborations with Rob Thomas (“Smooth”), The Product G&B (“Maria Maria”) and Michelle Branch (“The Game of Love”) are truly masterpieces and have all gone to achieve Billboard Hot 100 success. His offerings the past few year haven’t yielded the same results but I have a feeling that’s all about to change.

Indy” produced and written by Miguel will appear on Santana’s next album Corazon scheduled to hit stores May 6. If you loved his contribution to the Girls Season 3 soundtrack, you’ll love this. Once again the “Adorn” singer delivers a sultry soulful track. Miguel can do no wrong in my eyes.

In addition to Miguel, Santana has a few other big names lined up for his upcoming album. Gloria Estefan, Wayne Shorter, Ziggy Marley and Pitbull will all be included. Love that Mr. Worldwide is part of this bunch. There is no stopping the rapper. He’s inescapable and practically everywhere this year. Check out “Indy” featuring Miguel below.

It’s not that kind of “sword fighting” you pervs. It’s with actual weapons and not their penises. Having said that, I’d be completely on board to watch these two go at it with that kind of battle ;)

If you’re in badly need of some shirtless hunky men dueling against one another, definitely check out Vikings. It’s no Spartacus, but it’s very entertaining in its own right. The History Channel drama certainly has its share of buff eye candy. In the most recent episode, Hunger Games alum Alexander Ludwig gets a little training from his uncle played by Clive Standen.

Despite looking dreadfully cold while filming in Ireland, the two men heat things up with their hotness. Check out the clip below.

Kylie’s army of Lovers waited eons for new music. Clearly, the Aussie singer felt badly for the aural deprivation. She’s offering up two new tracks in addition to her recently released long-awaited LP, Kiss Me Once.

Golden Boy” made its way online this past weekend. The track was supposed to be featured solely as a Japanese bonus track, but Minogue offered it up for Record Store Day- a global holiday for people to support brick and mortar music retailers. “Golden Boy” was released on single-sided 7″ vinyl. It’s a shame Kylie didn’t include it as a regular track on Kiss Me Once. It’s not bad.

To support One Note Against Cancer, Minogue co-wrote “Crystallize” with Dev Hynes and Babydaddy. She shared a short teaser of the charity single via Instagram. If you’d like your name to appear in the music video, you can purchase a ‘note’ by clicking here: The 45-year-old is a breast cancer survivor herself. Check out both tracks below.

The Voice Season 6: The Top 12 Perform (Video)

In: Donovan, TV Shows

After all the blind auditions and numerous battle rounds, the live shows finally started on The Voice Season 6. It’s about time. Is it just me who felt it took especially long to get to this point this season?

Before we get to the performances, I have to say I’m a little surprised with the make up of the Top 12. Given that three women in a row have won the NBC singing competition, I thought for sure producers would manipulate things to get a male winner this year. While it’s certainly still possible, there are only four men in the dozen left competing. I have a feeling we’re in store for another female to take it home this season.

With regards to the performances, there wasn’t anyone who thoroughly impressed me and gave me goosebumps. A few, however, did stand out better than the rest. Kat Perkins, Josh Kaufman, Christina Grimmie, Bria Kelly, Kristen Merlin and Tess Boyer all performed solidly. Sisaundra Lewis also did well, but I’m just not connecting with her. I’d be surprised if any of them were eliminated this week. My predictions to be sent home packing are Dani Moz and Audra McLaughlin or Delvin Choice. Watch all the performances below and weigh in afterward if you agree with my prediction.

WOOF!!! Bo Roberts looks even more delicious than I remembered. I first featured him in my Model Behavior series a couple of years ago.

Los Angeles based N2N Bodywear has tapped Roberts to front their 2014 ad campaign. Check out Bo looking extremely sexy in the brand’s collection of underwear, swimwear and other goods below. The images were snapped by photographer Gabriel Goldberg.

Emma Stone landed her first Vogue cover back in July 2012 wearing Nina Ricci. The American publication once again taps the 25-year-old for their May 2014 issue. This time around, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actress wears a look from Gucci’s 2014 collection.

While I love Stone, I’m not super crazy about some of the pieces the magazine’s editors have chosen for her. It looks a little too Thanksgiving high school play costume-y for my liking.

For the accompanying interview, Emma talks about her co-star and real life boyfriend Andrew Garfield, Googling herself and never watching her breakout role in Easy A. Another highlight is Stone talking about participating in VH1′s 2004 reality singing competition, In Search of the New Partridge Family. Watch a couple of performances below, along with more pics snapped by photographer Craig McDean.

On Googling Herself

“I don’t usually like what I find… but some of it is really funny.” She mentioned that she now refers to herself as “that bland basic bitch.”
