Earlier this week, Jennifer Lopez announced her first Las Vegas residency beginning January 2016 at Planet Hollywood. While the 45-year-old singer isn’t the best vocalist around, there’s no denying she’s one of the best performers in the industry. Woman knows how to put on an entertaining show.
J. Lo gave fans a taste of what to expect with her Vegas stint. She performed a medley of her greatest hits, including “If You Had My Love,” “Love Don’t Cast a Thing,” “Jenny From a Block,” “Get Right,” and “On the Floor” on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Watch her energetic performance below. Props for singing live.
The second FOX canceled The Mindy Project, there were rumblings that it had already found a new home. Much to the delight of the show’s loyal fans, those rumors turned out to be true.
Hulu, which already has the exclusive streaming rights to the show, has officially resurrected the sitcom for a fourth season. And a super-sized one at that. The streaming service ordered a whopping 26 episodes, bringing the series closer to the magical 100-episode syndication mark.
No date has been revealed on when Mindy Kaling and company will return. Check out statements from both Hulu and Kaling below.
Adam Lambert gives his adoring fans another taste off his forthcoming album, The Original High, in stores in a month. The 33-year-old singer swaps out the house beats of “Ghost Town” for slinky haunting percussion.
Like its predecessor though, “Underground” also features some finger snapping. Another solid offering from his new era. I’m beyond curious to hear what else Lambert has in store for us on his new LP. Give his passionate ballad a listen below.
If you love Portia de Rossi on Scandal, it’s your lucky day. Her character, Elizabeth “Lizzie Bear” North won’t be hibernating anytime soon. The 42-year-old actress has been promoted to series regular for the ABC drama’s fifth season. She revealed the news in an interview with TVLine.com.
“I’ve been here for the entire season, so, honestly, I already feel like I’m part of the family. It would’ve been very sad for me not to come back. And to come back with a guarantee of a few more episodes than [I was in this season] is really fantastic. It’s just a great ensemble cast. And we’re all really excited about the show — still. I came on as a fan, but all the actors are just as excited as when they first started the show. And I love Shonda Rhimes. I love Shonda Rhimes.” Portia tells TVLine.com
The highly-anticipated sequel, Pitch Perfect 2, hits theaters today. Who’s aca-excited? I’m definitely carving out some time this weekend to check it out.
Ester Dean not only stars in the film but provides a cut for the film soundtrack. Why “Crazy Youngsters” wasn’t chosen instead of Jessie J’s paint-by-numbers ballad “Flashlight” as the lead single is puzzling? This energetic track is far livelier than that snoozefest. No disrespect to Jessie, but keeping it real.
Dean not only enlists a few of her Pitch Perfect 2 co-stars like Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and Flula, to appear in the music video but also several YouTube stars. Check Ester and company below acting all ‘crazy’ on the streets of London. It’s pretty aca-awesome and lots of fun.
The CW was the last to make their presentation at this year’s upfronts. With less timeslots to fill than the other major broadcast networks, they had less than a handful of new programs to debut. In this case, quality definitely wins over quantity. There’s some serious breakout potential here.
By far, the most anticipated is the network’s latest superhero drama. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow follows the adventures of a ragtag team of heroes and villains confronting an unstoppable threat to the planet. Familiar faces from both Arrow and The Flash appear on the new show. Caity Lotz who played Black Canary reemerges in the spinoff as White Canary. Apparently, she’s not dead after all. Sadly though, we’ll have to wait til midseason when it premieres to learn how and why.
The CW also found the perfect program to complement the critically-acclaimed Jane The Virgin. I get a modern-day Ally McBeal vibe from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It’ll feature plenty of inner monologues which segue into irreverent musical interludes. Check out the trailer below, along with the descriptions and promos for the other new shows.
Had Revenge producers included a scene each week of Nick Wechsler sans clothes, perhaps viewers would’ve stuck around. Sadly though, we’ll never find out since ABC canceled the once-hit watercooler drama.
The 36-year-old actor strips down to nothing with only a strategically placed towel to hide his naughty bits in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan UK. Why almost naked? In addition to titillating readers, it’s to raise awareness for Cancer Research and to urge men to go for regular checkups.
“I’ve never really spoken much about it, but cancer is something that has affected my life, so I’m pleased to do this shoot for Cancer Research UK. I lost a brother over 20 years ago when I was 14 and he was 24. He was only diagnosed when doctors X-rayed his torso after a motorcycle accident, and found advanced cancer.”
Check below to see the full pic of the one above, along with another photo. God, I’ll miss Revenge and all it’s ridiculous revenge-y glory.
Immediately, I was turned off by the title. It’s blatantly clear, Adam Levine and company are chasing the ‘Song of the Summer’ crown for 2015. Calvin Harris pretty much did the same thing last year when he released the aptly-titled, “Summer.”
Despite this, “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt” instantly hooked me. The chorus is undeniably catchy. I couldn’t erase the earworm from memory after just one listen. Damn you, Maroon 5!!! Levine just owns it and his vocals have never sounded better. It’s the lead single of the band’s upcoming re-issue of their album, V.
Gotta hand it to Maroon 5. They haven’t had a misstep in years. Since 2011’s “Moves Like Jagger,” nothing they’ve released hasn’t managed to crack the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10. That’s an impressive eight hit single streak. Guaranteed, their latest will continue that trend and will be inescapable this Summer. This one’s got bonafide smash written all over it. Give it a listen below.
