Today is a sad day. On September 9, 2011 after 25years and it’s 25th season, the Oprah Winfrey Show will come to an end. It goes without saying that I am deeply saddened to hear this news. I have been watching Oprah for as long as I can remember and for the past seven months of my unemployment, she has been there for me just about everyday (with the exception of her summer break). Below is the letter that was sent to Harpo’s partners this afternoon:
Over the past several weeks, my team and I have had conversations with many of you to help address your questions about the future of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Of course, the one question we couldn’t answer was the one that only Oprah could. And tomorrow, she will do just that.
But before she speaks to her loyal viewers, we wanted to share her decision first with you — our valued partners for more than two decades.
Once again the Seattle Red Dress Party is taking over the Naval Reserve Center for a fabulous night of red, red and red. The Seattle Red Dress Party brings together men, women, gay, straight, old and young with one common goal: to raise awareness for those living with HIV and AIDS with 100% of net proceeds going to support the beneficiaries.
A little history:
While the idea of a red dress party has been around for years, Seattle’s Red Dress Party can be traced back to a house party in the basement of a North Portland home in 2001 and since then the party has grown year after year and last year traveled up I-5 to Seattle. Last year’s First Annual Red Dress Party was a huge success and so it stands to reason that this year’s event can only get better.
This past weekend whilst visiting my friends north of the border, we decided to catch the new end of the world flick “2012.” For those of you that don’t know, the premise of the movie revolves around the end of the world based on the Mayan calendar. Basically the Mayans believe that the world will end on December 12, 2012. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie I did find myself needing a Xanax throughout parts of it for a variety of reasons, mainly because of the intense action scenes and boring plot line, but I also found myself feeling slightly gullible (with a tinge of anxiety). Thinking about the end of the World is kind of daunting so it’s a wonder why we are obsessed with destroying it. Growing up in a Christian family, I was always aware of the Rapture as outlined in the Bible, but never considered that the Earth would be destroyed by aliens or giant tornados that froze the Earth’s climate and really never thought it would be glorified.
Yet again, director Roland Emmerich just about destroys humanity while promoting family values and cheesy plot lines in his latest movie “2012.” You might remember some of his earlier Earth-destroying films such as “Independence Day”, “The Day After Tomorrow” and although the Earth wasn’t destroyed in this one, “Godzilla.” This post isn’t so much a review of “2012″ as it is a question of why are we obsessed with destroying the world?
Guess which site added another cast member? It’s us, silly. Unlike our last addition, Nic, we decided not to do a big build-up until the big reveal. Instead, we decided to just surprise you with the news. Truth be told, we weren’t necessarily looking for a new cast member, since we just added Nic just a few weeks ago. But the amount of traffic and comments generated from a few of Alex’s “Saturday Submissions” made us take notice.
Hailing from Seattle, Alex comes from an advertising background and is very well-versed in many topics. Get to know our latest addition to the Homorazzi family with the standard Q&A I subject all the cast members to. We are honored to have Alex join us on a regular basis and hope you’ll show him the same love you’ve given us.

What is horoscope sign?
Taurus – The Taurus was originally introduced by Ford in 1986 and has remained in production for more than 2 decades (that’s 20 years). Oh, wait, wrong kind of Taurus. Funny enough, I was born in 1986 and the Ford Taurus debuted in 1986. The More You Know (cue shooting star).
