Yuna is a huge star in her native Malaysia. She’s known for her indie folk pop-tinged tracks. I first noticed the 32-year-old singer-songwriter with her killer cover of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.” A few years ago, she served up major R&B realness on her Usher collabo “Crush.” She’s back and with another tasty track.
Yuna taps American rapper G-Eazy for the groovy bop, “Blank Marquee.” It’s actually the second time these two have collaborated. They first teamed up on the remix version of “Lights And Camera,” Yuna’s 2013 single.
“Blank Marquee was inspired by late 80’s, early 90’s pop music that I grew up listening to in my dad’s old car… we wanted to write something kinda sassy, but also a song about standing up for yourself,” Yuna says of her inspiration behind the track, co-written by Chloe Angelides.
Check out the “Blank Marquee” video below which was shot in Kuala Lumpur.
