‘Younger’ Receives Season 6 Renewal

Ahead of its Season 5 premiere tonight on TV Land, Younger received some very good news. The network renewed the adorable dramedy for a sixth season. The news isn’t too surprising given Season 4 scored big gains over Season 3, becoming the show’s highest-rated season yet.

“Younger exemplifies romantic comedy at its best and each season the show hits new creative and ratings heights,” said Kevin Kay, president of TV Land, CMT and Paramount Network. “We are honored to continue to work with the brilliant Darren Star and this amazing cast, led by the multitalented Sutton Foster. The new season is outstanding and we are thrilled for what’s to come for these beloved characters.”

Younger is from Sex And The City maestro Darren Star. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Pamela Redmond Satran. It follows 40-something Liza (Foster), a suddenly single mother who tries to get back into the working world, only to find out it’s nearly impossible to start at the bottom at her age. Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Molly Bernard and Peter Hermann also star. Charles Michael Davis, who recurred last season, gets upgraded to series regular for Season 5.

As a huge fan of the show, I’m glad we’ll see more of Liza’s journey. I’m curious to know who’ll learn Liza’s secret this season. If you haven’t already, check out the Season 5 trailer below.
