I know 2013 is just around the corner, but can 2014 come first. I don’t know if I can wait an entire year and then some for X-Men: Days of Future Past to hit theaters. When Bryan Singer announced that he was returning to the X-Men franchise and bringing along Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen to reprise their roles of Prof X and Magneto respectively, I was already excited enough. But with this bit of news, I’m beyond that.
For those who don’t know the premise of the X-Men sequel, here’s the gist. It will alternate between a 20th century world featuring the First Class cast (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender) and a dystopian future where older versions of them appear (Stewart and McKellen). Ever since Singer confirmed that Patrick and Ian were on board, many have speculated and hoped he would bring others. For all you comic book geeks, Christmas just came early because another casting coup has occurred.

All you Wolverine fans rejoice. Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Since he’s already filmed the sequel to his own Wolverine franchise, he’s already in buff shape. The above promo poster is the most recently released piece of artwork from the studio. With the 44-year-old Aussie on board, he continues his streak of being the only actor to appear in every X-Men film. He made a brief cameo in 2011′s X-Men: First Class.
“I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #X-Men Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come…” – Bryan Singer
Are you excited for Jackman to don those claws once more? Who else would you like to see return to the X-Men franchise? Halle Berry? Famke Janssen? James Marsden? Rebecca Romijn? Sound off below.

I would really like to see Rogue actually. Especially now with all that Anna Paquin could bring to the character with her experience from True Blood.

As much as I like the first two X-Men movies, I don’t think they should bring any more characters. The movie is already super crowded. I want them to develop the characters from First Class in the first place and only use the character’s versions from the first two films in a supporting role.
I’m curious to see how the First Class characters will react to seeing a version of their world where they’re mostly exctinct. It should prove to be great drama.

honestly i really want famke janssen who played Phoenix to be confirmed in X men: Days of future Past 2014, i’m liked her becomes getting evil as the Dark Phoenix with her teleportation which unknown about her presence, i always read in x men; Days of future Past comic book she is Dark Phoenix and James Marsden who played cyclops can be back in x men: days of future past 2014 but as i know cyclops in future is dead if i’m not wrong, in future timeline this is based on “Age of Apocalypse”. Emma Frost will have to come with the X men especially doing an adventure with Dark Phoenix and Cyclops !

Definitely Famke Janssen! I would love to see the Phoenix rise again. Anna Paquin as Rogue would also be amazing.

I think they need to leave the old cast out of the First Class films. Rebecca Romijn’s cameo was awesome but Mystique can pull that off. I’m hoping Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have very brief cameos. Fassbender and McAvoy were so awesome that I don’t want their screen time being taken away. They made Prof X and Magneto exiting and energetic and I preferred them over their older counterparts.
I would like them to do a proper Phoenix Saga, though. I wouldn’t mind a recasting for that, however. They need to be careful with casting. Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, January Jones, and a few others were poor choices. Comic book films are big and successful enough nowadays that they don’t need to go for the big name/recognizable actor. Just get the right fit for the part.
