Well they did better this week with the lip sync I guess, what a disappointment that was to learn last week hey?
Along with the group performance, we had two guests this week, Willow Smith and Jessie J. Willow surprisingly did a great performance to FIREBALL I believe, and I’m very impressed with where her career is going. Jessie J sang her new single DOMINO which I love. I didn’t give her much of a chance when she started because I HATED that money money money song, it was awful, but this one I dig.
After those two performances we got to the results, so who made it?
First announced was Stacy Francis. I was extremely happy about that obviously, so I guess I wrong about my bottom two. All of Nicole’s people made it through first, then Simon’s. It was down to Lakoda Rayne, Stereo Hoggz and Chris Rene. While my gut was SCREAMING FOR Chris Rene to be in the bottom two, sadly he was safe once again. He’s so gross.
So Paula is in the same position as she was in last week, which is started to get annoying. Groups are never given a chance on the X Factor and I don’t really know why. Lakoda Rayne is a FABULOUS group, and America you GOTTA give these groups a shot.
Song: No Air by Jordin Sparks
They sang first, and performed No Air, which I thought they sang beautifully. The brunette is my fave, she’s got the best voice and the best style.
Song: You Are Not Alone by
After the girls, it was Stereo Hoggz who performed You are not Along by Michael Jackson, BAD song choice. But I guess they wanted to go for the heartstrings like Melanie did, you know the trial and all that.
LA Reid and Nicole both voted to send the Hoggz home, and when we got to Paula she had a meltdown. She couldn’t vote anyone through and Simon said it was fine. I really liked how he stuck up for her, it just goes to show you that these judges aren’t always stupid bitches towards each other, that they are friends. In the end Paula decided to send home Lakoda Rayne only so the Hoggz could have a chance, sadly we all knew Simon would send them home and rightfully so.
After a very emotional outburst from Paula, the Hoggz were sent packing, and one again Paula is down a contender. Very very unfortunate but what are you gonna do. I hope that Lakoda Rayne make it through next week because there are worse acts getting through.
On that note, I leave you with the videos.

America’s Got Talent has the same problem with groups, the audience may enjoy watching them, but when it comes to time to pick up the phone and vote, they go with the individuals. Since X-Factor was renewed for a season 2, they need to rework the format and dump the groups category, its not working and I don’t think it ever will. I’m not sure what category should replace it, maybe an Under-16′s or something like that. Also from what I understand, Mariah Carey was supposed to be judge this season but couldnt because of the pregnancy, so hopefully they get her next season to replace Nicole.

Oh, and another thing, Steve Jones is effing hot and I enjoy looking at him, I also like that he cracks the whip on the judges to get the show in on time, but he can also be kinda douchey. They need to get Cat Deely in there stat to co-host, that way, Steve Jones can keep shutting up the judges and Cat can do her sweet comforting the contestants thing. Or just have Cat host the show solo. Also, I hope Stacy Francis’ stylists never make us see her “Is That Tyra Banks?” forehead again.

Okay, I promise this is my last comment in this section, but I also like the idea of just three categories with 4 contestants each. But if they have to keep 4 categories, then yeah, I’d rather see an under 16 category than groups.

Well, while the groups have never WON in the UK, a few years they have gotten to top 2, so it’s not about the category it’s about the actual group. It can happen :)

it looks like the trend where group get their success on american music market will never see green light.
i think it is better just cut out the group category.

I think the reason that groups are not doing well has to do with western culture in general, which tends to focus more on individual achievements instead of group achievements. Even though in some realms it seems like groups are lauded at first, in the end an individual gets all the attention (e.g. NFL football: quarterbacks and/or coaches tending to be the stars while the rest are just considered support; corporations: CEOs getting all the money and the credit).
In terms of music, sure it seems some acts get praised as a group, but you notice that one person gets all the attention…the lead singer. It wouldn’t surprise me if the reason most acts disband is because the others feel unappreciated due to one person getting all the credit.
Just my two cents on that.
