OH, HELL TO THE NO!!! If Whitney Houston thought “crack was whack“, I can only imagine what she’s thinking up there in heaven regarding this. In an inappropriately awful decision, Houston’s family has agreed to film their lives for a new docu-series for Lifetime Network. Hasn’t her family learned from the mess that was called “Being Brown Brown“? If you don’t acknowledge the past, you’re doomed to repeat it.

Not surprisingly, “The Houston Family Chronicles” is the brainchild of Whitney’s manager and sister-in-law Pat. According to Pat, the reality venture has been in the works for some time now, even before Whitney’s untimely passing. I call BS. “I have been working with Simmons Shelley over the past few years developing a project suitable for myself and our family,” she says. “The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show.  However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.”

Joining Pat in the series are Whitney’s brother Gary (Pat’s husband) and niece Rayah (Pat’s daughter) and Whit’s daughter Bobbi Kristina. Surprisingly, Houston’s mother Cissy is also on board with the project. I thought being the matriarch, she would think this isn’t the ideal situation for her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina. Even if they need the money, I think it’s TOO SOON to exploit Whitney’s death in this manner.

Whitney Houston’s sudden passing left behind a major void felt not only by the world, but also by those who loved her most, her beloved family. “The Houston Family Chronicles” follows those closest to the pop music icon as they try to pick up the pieces after her untimely death. Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law, manager and most trusted confidant, manages the business and estate of the beloved singer and her most prized possession, her daughter Bobbi Kristina. The series will follow Pat and her husband, Gary, Whitney Houston’s brother, as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her Mother. - Lifetime Press Release
