It’s a sad day as we’ve just learned that Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48. A representative for the Associated Press confirmed the news. She died at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and TMZ is reporting that a police crime lab vehicle was just seen outside the hotel. This is a developing story and publicist Kristen Foster has said that the cause of death is not yet known.

The legendary singer has won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during career. In addition, her album “Whitney” was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums world wide.

Houston’s singing career became affected by her drug use, erratic behaviour and a rocky marriage to singer Bobby Brown. It’s so sad to see her pass away.

UPDATE: According to TMZ, was found in the bathtub of her hotel room yesterday with her face underwater. Her stylist, hairdresser, and two bodyguards were among the people in the room at the time. They became worried when she had been in the bathroom for over an our and it was time for her to start getting ready for the Clive Davis party. When there was no answer when they knocked, the female hair dresser went in to check on her and screamed for help. One of the bodyguards came in and pulled her out. It was as though she had slipped in because her face was below water and her legs were up.

The bodyguard attempted CPR and hotel security was called. Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter, and Whitney was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM. So sad.
