Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, Jann Arden, Hedley, Chin Ingeti, The Boom Booms, former U.S. President Bill Clinton and our very own Vancouver Men’s Chorus are just some of the acts that will be hitting the stage at this year’s Voices in the Park.

The concert is to take place on September 15th in Vancouver’s beautiful Stanley Park at Brockton Point. All proceeds will benefit the Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Vancouver, “which aims to use the power of music to inspire youth in under-served communities by offering free music programs.” Celebrating their 10th year of being in operation they saw 280 students walk through their doors this year. I wish I had known about the school when I was still young enough to attend (grades 4 through 12). It would have been such and amazing experience and it’s also all provided to the students free of charge. Sarah’s goal for the concert is to net $1 million and I for one am going to help her reach that goal. Since I’m part of the Vancouver Men’s Chorus I do get my own entrance but you better believe I will be bringing ALL my friends and family to this. I was going to go before I even knew we were performing so that was just a magical moment for me personally when I found out we would be performing.

Concert producers are urging people to use eco friendly transportation to get to and from the concert location. A free bike valet service will be available. Shuttle buses will be operating from key transit points in Vancouver and from Park Royal in West Vancouver, with return fares priced $5 with the concert will take place rain or shine.
