August is now here and the 2011 Vancouver Queer Film Festival is just around the corner, taking place August 11th – 21st. For 11 days each August, the Vancouver Queer Film Festival brings the very best in queer independent film from around the world and into Vancouver.
Homorazzi is proud to be sponsoring the festival once again, and specifically sponsoring the Canadian premiere of Judas Kiss. We’ll be at the premiere as well as the “GuySpy Presents Judas Screening and Party” taking place on Saturday, August 13th. Lucky for me, I got to watch a prescreen of the film and I loved it! Charlie David (Dante’s Cove) was great, and so was the other lead, played by Richard Harmon. I was even surprised that a porn star could be such a great actor, but Brent Corrigan “nailed it,” so to speak.
Synopsis: The film stars Charlie David in the lead role of Zachary Wells, a failed filmmaker who returns to his alma mater to judge the annual student short film contest. During his first night on campus, an anonymous hook up with a student triggers an emotional, and rather metaphysical, journey into the past. Charlie David is aptly teamed up with 20-year-old Vancouverite Richard Harmon and gay porn star-turned-actor Brent Corrigan (aka Fox Ryder).

CINEPLEX ODEON INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE CINEMAS
I will be there on the Saturday August 13th showing to introduce you to the hunky lead actor Charlie David, and some of the other key people after the film. At the theatre, there are two in-theatre bars and an audience member will win an iPad 2 and other door prizes. Following the film will be some great tunes and even take part in a learn-to-play poker game. Should be a really fun night! Who knows, maybe Brent Corrigan will even be there… Wink Wink…
