It’s ‘Girl Power’ in the latest issue of V Magazine. Cassie, Azealia Banks and Sky Ferreira headline the publication’s “Girls of Now” feature. IMHO, they couldn’t have picked three better female music acts to highlight. Can’t you just picture these three in a modern-day Charlie’s Angels film fighting crimes like music piracy and fashion faux pas? I love it.

Also included in the editorial are Porcelain Black, Grimes, Liza Thorn, Charli XCX, Trixie Whitley and Venus X. Check out what each lady’s biggest moment of 2012 was below, along with their photo snapped by photographer Sharif Hamza.

“I put out two singles! “Balcony,” with Young Jeezy and “The Boys,” with Nicki Minaj. I’m beyond excited! I’ve been really patient with music, and things are moving now. I couldn’t be happier. My other big moment of 2012 was going to Italy. It was my first time and I can’t wait to go back.”

Azealia Banks

“Releasing my mixtape, Fantasea. I had struggled in the past to create full bodies of work, and that was my first official one, so I’m proud of that!”

Sky Ferreira

“Playing live for the first time in L.A. with my band and having the venue completely packed with people who were really into it.”

Porcelain Black

“Working with Jack White and Hype Williams, and starring alongside Tom Cruise and Russell Brand in Rock of Ages. Also re-producing my record and making a swag mixtape, swagging out with YMCMB!”

“The entire Full Flex Express, a cross-Canada train tour that Skrillex organized. It really changed my views on a lot of things. Also, he’s one of my all-time favorite artists…I actually cried when I found out I was going on the tour!”

Charli XCX

“Opening for Coldplay in the U.S. and Europe was incredible! One time I actually played to a crowd of 65,000 people. I completely lost myself. I felt like a superstar.”

Trixie Whitley

“Finally finishing my first full-length record, which has become the record of my dreams!”

Venus X

“The whole thing. I opened for Juicy J, Erykah Badu, and Peaches all in the last two months. I can’t believe I was allowed to do that! It sounds so twisted.”

Liza Thorn

“Finishing Starred’s debut EP, Prison to Prison, and moving to NYC. I feel like I’m finally making it.”
