I am so excited about my new single Glow that I want to share it with all of you. There are a few reasons why this song is so close to my heart. I grew up in a very small town where there isn’t a lot of opportunity to pursue the things I love. No dance classes, no theatre and definitely no TV and film. However, I always wanted to go after that and try my best, regardless of what anyone else said. After graduation, I packed my bags and headed for the big city. I had to climb a few obstacles, believe me, but it was all worth it. I started working for a theatre company in the city and got to be on stage which is what I love to do. I took dance classes and taught new beginners and immersed myself into the entertainment scene completely. Now, I live in an even bigger city with even bigger challenges and obstacles. This song is all about my personal struggle and battle to make it through the eyes of a young girl with the same dreams.
I wrote this song with the intention to reach out to the younger generation out there who also have big dreams. I am a firm believer in anything is possible if you believe it will happen and work your butt off to do it. Trust me, you’re going to have more than enough people who will break you down and tell you you can’t. Sometimes, you just want to quit. I know I have. But, with the right support around you and persistency to do your best, you’ll always come out on top.
There is another special reason why I am sharing this track with you. In support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, I have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the first week of sales to the Centre. Rich and myself have worked with them before and they do amazing work for Vancouver and the country. “At the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, every day is an inspiring reminder of what we can achieve by providing HIV treatment and other supports for people whose lives are impacted by HIV/AIDS and additional challenges of addiction, mental illness, poverty and discrimination.” Please help me support this wonderful centre and purchase Glow on iTunes. You can give the track a listen below.
Thank you for your support in helping me give to the Dr. Peter Centre. They do amazing work! Again, you purchase Glow on iTunes HERE! To learn more about the Dr. Peter Centre, CLICK HERE.
