Troye Sivan Debuts ‘Love, Simon’ Contribution ‘Strawberries & Cigarettes’

Love, Simon is in theaters today. Definitely go out and check it out. Not only is it fantastic, but since it’s the first romantic comedy backed by a major studio to center on a gay teen, we should support it to show Hollywood we want more films like this.

The accompanying film soundtrack was executive produced by Jack Antonoff. His band, Bleachers, also recorded the lead cut “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song).” When the track list was revealed, the cut I was most looking forward to listening to was Troye Sivan’s contribution, “Strawberries & Cigarettes.” It’s here and doesn’t disappoint.

“Remember when we first met? / You said “light my cigarette” / You sat and stared at my lips / And I could already feel your kiss,” Sivan sings on the romantic ballad. The mood and lyrics are absolutely perfect for the coming-of-age teen flick. Check it out below.
