On the eve of Donald Trump being sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, Troye Sivan debuts a moving clip highlighting the joys and struggles of the LGBT community. The timing for this couldn’t be anymore perfect, given that many are frightened at what his presidency will bring.
“Heaven” is lifted off the 21-year-old’s 2015 debut LP Blue Neighbourhood. Sivan sings about his struggles marrying sexuality and religion together. The Luke Gilford-directed video depicts Sivan’s personal conflict with this issue. In between scenes of him contemplating life in the rain are historic footage of various LGBT protests, parades and victories. It’s a moving clip for an equally anthemic ballad.
Check out the video below. Though Betty Who is featured on the track, she doesn’t appear anywhere in the visual.
