Mark Wahlberg finally has some co-stars who aren’t Autobots or Decepticons. The fourth installment in the Transformers saga finally has its young leads. Will the franchise catapult the careers of these young actors as it did with Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox? Based on the number of articles already on the interweb about their casting, I would say so. That said, both of the newbies have notable credits to their name already. Find out who they are below.

Taking on the young teen heartthrob role is Brenton Thwaites. Reportedly, he’ll be a Texan racing driver in the sequel. This Aussie actor made a big splash in Lifetime’s remake of The Blue Lagoon. Thwaites looked so damn good on the set of the made-for-television film, I had to devote a Man Crush post on him. The 23-year-old actor can next be seen in Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent.
Filling in for the female eye candy part previously played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Megan Fox before her, is Nicola Peltz. The 17-year-old actress will play Mark Wahlberg’s daughter and Thwaite’s love interest. Her biggest part to date was for her Worst Supporting Actress Razzie-nominated role in The Last Airbender. LOL. Hopefully her turn in A&E’s Psycho prequel, Bates Motel, is received much more positively.
Transformers 4 will reportedly take place in China, four years after Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The film has a tentative release date of June 26, 2014. What do you think of the addition of these two fresh-faced kids? Are you excited to see Transformers 4? Sound off below.
