Nothing quite compares to watching an Olympic athlete perform their sport with total precision and intensity. Just imagine training your whole life for just 20 sec of performance. Hard to comprehend isn’t it? What drives these athletes to train so hard and compete at such a high level? To each of them, their sport is much more than just a sport. To the average viewer watching the games, they might assume these athletes simply enjoy the sport which they are in and they’ve been playing it their whole life. To some extent this is true but it’s really much more than that. For these athletes their sport is a vehicle they use to achieve excellence and build character. Athletes have an innate desire to be the best not only at what they do, but who they are. You see, these two things are intertwined. It’s very difficult to reach such heights of success in the realm of sport without first conquering the realm of self.
These athletes understand that for them to reach their goals 4, 8, 12 years down the road, they need to stay focused and disciplined today. They see the bigger picture and understand the importance of dedication and hard work.
So many people try to get in shape or lose weight and they fail before they even get started. They’ve been lied to by the fitness industry and they believe that their is a quick fix that will help them lose 15 pounds in 1 month. They want the easiest route possible. What they don’t understand is that it is in the pursuit of their fitness goal that the most important gains will be made. They will learn how to be disciplined, how to be dedicated and how to see the big picture. They will develop character because they will stay focused in the face of diversity. This is truly the biggest achievement, not the weight loss, because these principles can be applied to any aspect of life.
Imagine an Olympic athlete just starting their training program and after 4 short weeks they are unable to compete at a gold medal level, so they decide to quit. Unheard of! No matter how hard, how many hours, how many set backs, they will press on. Days, weeks, months years, pure dedication.
If you want to train like an Olympian, don’t start by finding the quickest fat loss training program, start by developing an Olympic training mindset. Nothing will stop you from achieving your goals. You will do everything in your power, you will make sacrifices, you will seek out help, you will never quit. Imagine the power behind that kind of a mindset. Your goals will be shattered before you know it!!!
The battle always begins in the mind, conquer that opponent first and nothing will ever get in your way!
GO CANADA!!!!!!!
