Mother’s Day was a few months ago and it’s not Diana Ross’ birthday anytime soon but Tracee Ellis Ross decided to pay homage to her legendary mother this past weekend. The black-ish actress recreated one of Ross’ most iconic music videos, nearly frame by frame.
“Often in today’s images (moving and still), we are being objectified or we objectifying ourselves. I think it is meant to be an empowered act, a reclaiming of our bodies.”
“I decided to recreate the video and try to feel the joy of being in my body while offering up tribute to my glorious mother,” Ellis Ross shared on her website. “I hope it inspires you to find and be in the joy of your own body!”
Clearly, Tracee Ellis is the lucky recipient of her mother’s genes in the physique department. She can work her body like her mama. Check out both versions of the “Work That Body” video below.
