Over the past couple years, there has been a huge trend in gay music video parodies going viral on YouTube. It makes sense. Gays love music, dancing, and being in the spotlight. In 2009, it was all about Lady Gaga. Countless “Bad Romance” parodies flooded the internet, and I guess you can say that’s where it all started. This year, two new ladies took Gaga’s spot as the focus of gay after school projects: Katy Perry and Ke$ha.

Some of the biggest hits of the year, also became the most popular parodies on YouTube. Below, I’ve compiled a list of the Top 10 Gay Music Video Parodies of 2010. Props to Ryan James Yezak for his incredible work, with five of his videos (yes 50% of them his) making it into the list. To keep things interesting, there’s a video that I included that actually is not a parody, but an original “gay themed” song (although a straight anthem), that is so hilarious that I just had to include it. Check them out and cast your vote for your favorite!

“Likin’ Big Dick” – Johnny McGovern

Original: “Like A G6″ – Far East Movement
To the tune of the original number one 2010 hit, our favorite “Soccer Practice” gay pop star recently releases this dirty/gay/hot version (both visually and lyrically) of the track.

“We R Who We R” – Ryan James Yezak

Original: “We R Who We R” – Ke$ha
The always amazing Ryan James Yezak dished out his latest video to Ke$ha’s number one hit this year. Although it wasn’t my favorite video of his (at times I felt like I was going to have seizure), it’s still well made and thoroughly enjoyable.

“West Virginia Gurls” – Lady Bunny

Original: “California Gurls” – Katy Perry
A serious LOL for this one. This fabulous and incestuous video takes a raunchy spin on Katy Perry’s bubble gum summer smash. Despite my description, there is some hot eye candy worth checking out in this video too!

“Peacock” – Ryan James Yezak

Original: “Peacock” – Katy Perry
DEFINITELY my favorite Ryan James Yezak video this year. This was just awesome. Hot guys, great dancing, cool special effects and just a great song choice for a gay parody.

“Take It Off” – Boys of Boston

Original: “Take It Off” – Ke$ha
This gay parody of this trashy hot Ke$ha song was interpreted so well by these boys, making it the trashy hot gay parody we’d want it to be. Loved it.

“California Gurls” – Ryan James Yezak

Original: “California Gurls” – Katy Perry
One of my top favorite videos for sure, this video features a showdown between the California gays and the New York days, and only one posse survives.

“Tik Tok” – MikesCoasterCreation

Original: “Tik Tok” – Ke$ha
The straight video that turns gay is fun to watch. A lot of work went into this puppy. It was quite entertaining and oh so very gay. Oh, and FYI – they are not actually gay. The description on their video says so IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Right….

“I’m So Straight” – Erik Weiner

Original: N/A
So if you just watched the video, you see why I had to include it. The lyrics and the whole story told by Erik is freaking hilarious. One of my fave videos of the year for sure.

“Take It Off” – Ryan James Yezak

Original: “Take It Off” – Ke$ha
Another Yezak vid, this type with a dragged up Ke$ha as the lead. The video features a variety of locations, indoors and out, as well as some special black light effects, Ke$ha-style.

“Telephone” – Ryan James Yezak

Original: “Telephone” – Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce
Yezak’s first video of the year, and thankfully the only Lady Gaga parody in this list. Seriously, ALL of the parodies last year were Lady Gaga – and almost all were Bad Romance. This Telephone video rang in the New Year as one of the first parodies of 2010. After this one, I think Yezak’s videos went way up hill. Way to go, buddy!

What was your favorite gay parody/video of 2010?
