First Listen: Toni Braxton “Make My Heart” & “Hands Tied”

It’s official. Toni Braxton is back, and better than ever. The “Un-break My Heart” diva, released two new tracks on her website yesterday. Both “Make My Heart” and “Hands Tied” are expected to be included on her forthcoming album, Pulse. Her debut CD from her new record label, Atlantic Records, is expected to hit stores on May 4, 2010.

Braxton wisely unveiled two tracks that couldn’t be anymore different from each other. While the uptempo”Make My Heart” gears to more of a youthful-club-going-crowd, the piano ballad “Hands Tied” looks to reconnect with her adult contemporary fans.

It’s been almost 20 years since Toni first hit the music scene. Though its been probably been photoshopped to death, both her CD single covers look smoking hot. She looks even sexier than when she first debuted with her short cropped hair. Those Beyonce-like hair extensions and wind machine are totally helping her with her sexy-at-40 cougar fabulousness.

Out of the two samplings, I’m leaning towards to “Make My Heart’ more. Normally I’m all about the ballads, but at first listen “Hands Tied” does absolutely nothing for me. It’s not as nasally breathy as her previous ballads. Some hot remixer needs work this track over, because the track as it stands is nothing special.
