Harry Potter alumni Tom Felton is latest hottie to cover Da Man magazine and with those piercing blue eyes, I’m not complaining. Tom may be leaving Harry Potter behind but is already heading up his next film with Friday’s release of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. In the issue, Tom talks about playing a villain, those crazy Harry Potter fans and not going blonde for a long time. So how does Tom embrace his villainess ways?

“I hope to embrace it. I think British actors have quite a good pedigree in playing villainous roles and they seem very happy. So, I hope to embrace it, rather than shake it.”

Does this mean we can expect more villain-like roles from Tom in the future? I hope so. I was lucky enough to catch a sneak preview of the new Apes movie last night (review up Friday) and Tom played quite the villain in that as well. Hopefully, that’s not the end. Tom also talks about his first day of set for Rise of the Planet of the Apes:

“I remembered on the first day of the shoot, Rupert [the director] said, ‘Yeah, it’s great, but I want you to have bleached-blond hair.’ I looked at him, like, ‘Ah, you are kidding, mate. I just managed to get rid of the blond hair, how can you possibly want it back?’ So I eventually said, ‘Yeah, fine. Okay, I’ll do it.’ And then he burst out laughing; he just wanted me to answer that. That was a nice way to break the ice with the director. From then on, I felt more comfortable filming with him.”
