As you likely already know, Katie Holmes recently filed for divorce from her husband Tom Cruise. Just like tearing off a bandaid, it seems as though the process is going to be over before we know it. “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life,” Holmes’ attorney Jonathan Wolfe said in a statement.

In addition, the former couple released a joint statement about their divorce: “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

From what I’ve read on different sites, the rumors are that Katie Holmes (33) wants sole custody of six-year old Suri, while Tom Cruise (50) will get generous visitation rights. Holmes has a place in New York City which is where she and her daughter will likely be living.
