TNT Cancels ‘Will’ After Just One Season

William Shakespeare maybe widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language, but the summer has not been kind to The Bard. Following the tepid response to Shonda Rhimes‘ ABC drama, Still Star-Crossed, comes another cancellation involving the playwright.

Will depicted the lost years of young William Shakespeare after his arrival to London in 1589 when theatre was like rock and roll. Newcomer Laurie Davidson played the title role in this period drama. TNT has canceled the series after just one season.

Despite Mattias Inwood flaunting his cakes in practically every episode, Will never gained much traction or viewers. It averaged just 670,000 total viewers and a low 0.2 ratings in the 18-49 demo.
