The cast of VH1′s upcoming TLC biopic is finally set. Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story will chronicle the girl group’s humble beginnings in Atlanta to their meteoric rise as one of the world’s highest-selling female groups of all time. Through very public and high profile success, turmoil and tragedy, TLC left an indelible stamp of female empowerment that changed the face of the music industry forever.
“TLC were truly music pioneers and this movie is a fantastic way to expand our scripted push by combining our audience’s passion for music with their love of story. We know our viewers will be eager to go beyond the headlines and into the surprisingly personal, never before told stories of these groundbreaking women,” – Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production.
Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins have signed on as consultants and executive producers for the full-length TV movie. Charles Stone III (Drumline, Paid in Full, Mr. 3000) is set to direct the biopic, which is penned by screenwriter Kate Lanier (What’s Love Got To Do With It, Set it Off, Beauty Shop). Crazy, Sexy Cool: The TLC Story is slated to begin shooting next month in Atlanta. Check out the ladies tapped to portray the 90s superstars below.

It’s good to see Lil Mama working again after MTV canceled America’s Best Dance Crew. The diminutive rapper takes on Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. A perfect choice if you ask me. Stepping in to spice things up as Chilli is KeKe Palmer. The 19-year-old star’s credits include Joyful Noise with Queen Latifah and Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP. Last, but certainly not least is Drew Sidora who’ll play T-Boz. You might recognize the 27-year-old actress from her appearances in 17 Again with Zac Efron and White Chicks.
What do you think of the cast? Do you think they can do TLC proud? Thankfully Chilli and T-Boz are involved in the project. That will hopefully prevent VH1′s biopic from becoming an exploitation piece. Do you agree? Sound off below.

I am not sure I agree with the casting of T-Boz…but I guess we will have to see how it turns out. I can’t wait!

I read a story a while ago about this being in development. I’m actually kinda happy with the cast they came up with. I’m really excited to see this biopic. TLC was a big part of my childhood and I love their music :)

And it almost looks like there is a gem behind each logo.
