Let’s just jump right into the action this week. Seriously, tonight’s results show flew by. Every week should have Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars’ performances along with a double elimination. Clarkson performed “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)“, while Mars sang “It Will Rain” from the “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack”.

Kelly Clarkson “Stronger” Performance

Kelly, as usual, blew it out the park. My only complaint and suggestion is that she think twice about her wardrobe choices. IMHO, it was a little too tight and shiny. Someone looks like they’ve been inside Christina Aguilera’s closet. My man Bruno also fared well. I just wished the graphics on the huge screens would’ve been images from Twilight and beautiful shots rainfall. Perhaps that was too literal for the show given the song’s lyrics and background.

Top 9 Group Performance

As you can see, there was no unnecessary filler. Even the group song by the Top 9 was entertaining. Every week, the public should decide what the contestants should perform and the scene setup. I loved the rotating table and the whole circus vibe of the performance. Plus, they sang a couple of Pink’s hits- “So What” and “Raise Your Glass“. Who doesn’t love a Pink medley?

The Eliminations

Immediately after the group performance, Steve Jones called up Lakoda Rayne and Drew to the center of the stage. He informed that one was going straight through to next week and the other had the least amount of votes and was going home immediately. UMMMM, I wonder which act is going. In probably the most anti-climatic elimination ever, Lakoda Rayne was out. I love these girls and hope they continue to pursue their dreams as a group. I’d love to see how they fare in the real world. Love them or hate them, the girls of Lakoda gave a couple of solid performances considering they were just thrown together. Glad that their final montage showed off some of their best moments on the show.

With one act eliminated, who was the next to go. Jones declared Chris Rene safe, followed by Rachel Crow, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro and Astro. Loved that Chris Rene was safe and mildly surprised that Astro didn’t even land in the bottom three. Talk about a comeback from last week’s showing.

Sing For Your Life

That leaves both Marcus Canty and LeRoy Bell up for elimination. Both performances weren’t that great, but the edge goes to LeRoy. Personally, I’m hoping Marcus stays since I enjoy him much more.

Marcus Canty

Song: You Lost Me by Christina Aguilera

LeRoy Bell

Song: Don’t Let Me Down

The Deliberation

Not surprisingly both LA Reid and Nicole Scherzinger stick with their singers, choosing to eliminate the other. That leaves it all in Paula and Simon’s hands. Paula decides to eliminate Marcus based on his shaky performance. Simon, choosing not to be the bad guy, picks Marcus to stay, thereby allowing America’s votes to decide who’s out. Based on last night’s voting, LeRoy received the second least amount of votes and is sent home. He takes the news graciously and given a fond sendoff by everyone.

What did you think of the results? Will you miss either Lakoda Rayne or LeRoy Bell? Who do you think will be eliminated next? Post all your thoughts below.
