This past week has been crazy in X Factor world, and not for what you would think. Without going TOO much into it because I can’t STAND the person doing it WE’VE GOT DRAMA! Perez Hilton (who I CANNOT STAND) has been coming for some of these contestants. Mainly Stacy Francis and Leroy Bell, and it’s incredibly pathetic what he’s trying to do. He is an internet BULLY and needs to knock it off. He’s perpetuating stupid drama and I hate to say it but it could affect people’s votes. But this post isn’t about that jerk, it’s about the absolutely INCREDIBLE performances that happened tonight on The X Factor.
It’s going to be really hard for me to judge who is going to be in the bottom two, so instead I’m going to give you the contestant in each category that I think was the weakest. However in some categories, like the girls, the weakest is still much stronger than other categories, like the boys. So grain of salt people. I will tell you that I’ve had a MAJOR shift about a contestant in the boys category and I will definitely admit it. Who is it? Well keep reading, we’re going through all the performance.
LETS DO IT!
Song: Rhythm Nation by Janet Jackson
Always a difficult song to sing because it was one of Janet’s biggest hits like ever! I think they did a good job with it. The costuming was a BIT Britney Circus for me, but it had that militant feel. They are a really good group, but definitely not my fave group. They should be safe this week for sure.
Song: Superstar by The Carpenters
Now I bet you might’ve thought this is the person I’ve changed my mind about, but it’s definitely not. I don’t understand why he’s still on the show. His singing is terrible, his style is terrible, his rapping is terrible. I mean, he’s just terrible. He’s going to muck everything up with people on this show who actually HAVE talent and can sing in tune. I don’t know why the judges like him so much. I think he is one of the worst contestants on any of these shows. I hated his performance, his staging was dumb, and his outfit was TERRIBLE! He got rid of the hat though which is always a good thing. Moving on.
Song: I’m Already There by Lonestar
Yeah Nicole hit the nail on the head with this song. Simon and LA didn’t like it, but the guy was singing to his kid! This was the first performance that made me cry. I think Leroy is great, but I don’t think he’s strong enough to go very far. I like him though.
Song: Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves
Lil Rachel…where is the flower in your hair? I miss it! I love Rachel, I REALLY do. I honestly don’t think anyone can say anything bad about her because she’s so freakin sweet. She can also sing. There are moments when I listen to her that I’m hearing a lil bit of Rihanna from her Pon da Replay days. I bet you anything Rachel is going to go along that route as she gets older.
Song: Landslide by Fleetwood Mac
Great song choice…not so great concept or styling. LA and Simon were right. The seasons are a LITTLE cheesy, and they looked a LITTLE cheesy, and the staging was a LITTLE cheesy. I will forgive it though because they sounded absolutely amazing. Were they better than Stereo Hoggz…I don’t know. I like their voices better, but Stereo Hoggz put on a show. No I like Lakoda Rayne better.
Song: Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri
I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about this performance. This was tied for me for the best performance of the night. There was a little freak out about this song being originally sung by a girl, but who cares. Chris did this on the UK version a couple weeks ago, and Josh did it better tonight. It was absolutely incredible, Josh is DEFINITELY safe, if he’s not I will be very upset. I watched it already about 6 times. It’s stunning.
Song: Desperado by Eagles
Melanie is a great singer. Melanie looks great. Melanie made Simon bring her back. Melanie had a magical voice. But Melanie I don’t feel is a star. It’s a very weird experience when I watch her. Her original audition of Listen was inspired, and yet the more I watch her on Live Shows I’m not FEELIN her. I have a feeling Simon is trying to make her the Leona Lewis of this competition, and she very well could be. I wasn’t a major fan of the song tonight but she did sing it well. Saying all of this however doesn’t mean I think she should go home at all…she needs to spark a bit more.
Song: Hip Hop Hooray/Get UR Freak On by Naughty By Nature/Missy Elliott
This is the one I changed my mind on. Yes he’s cocky, yes I think hes a punkass, yes I can’t STAND him sometimes, yes I’m not a big fan of rap. But this little kid is a star. It really impressed me tonight to find out he will only perform what he writes, which is incredible. Judos there, and he just has it. He makes me get up and pay attention. So my opinion on ASTRO has definitely changed, he’s the strongest boy for me. I know, I can’t of can’t believe it either.
Song: Kids in America/Party Rock Anthem by Kim Wilde/LMFAO
I love these kids. They make me get up, they make me dance, they are fun. They are totally cute and there is a MAJOR market for them. They are my favorite group because whenever they get on stage there’s SO much energy (probably because there’s 10 of them but still.) These guys will definitely make it to next week. I’m sure of it.
Song: Just a Dream by Nelly
I did not like it. I mean, I like it I guess but I did not LOVE it. This song is not Drew, and they shouldn’t make it Drew. She looks so awkward the way she tried to move on the stage like a watered down version of Astro. I just didn’t work for me at all. Her voice is magical, and I think she’s adorable but she just didn’t sell me on tonight. Bummer.
Song: Nothin’ On You/Every Little Step by B.o.B/Bobby Brown
LA is trying to make him into Bobby Brown, and the only way I will accept him as Bobby is if he gets all cracker jacked out and make a fabulous Reality Show. Marcus is fine, I liked him, and now I’m kind of ok with him. He’s a bit beige for me. He doesn’t excite me the way Astro does, but he is definitely light years away from that mess Chris Rene. What do you think?
Song: Up to the Mountain by Patty Griffin/Martin Luther King Speech
I’m not surprised they put her last with all the press she’s been getting this week. The more press, the more viewers want to see what happens, the longer the show makes the view wait. Stacy Francis pretty much mopped the floor with everyone tonight, and I’m not saying that because she’s my favorite. They went to church as Simon suggested and it paid off. It was STUNNING. I think Stacy was my absolute favorite performance tonight because she’s my favorite, with Josh trailing her my like a note. I really REALLY hope America will vote on talent and not on drama, because this woman is incredible.
BOYS – Chris Rene
GROUPS – Stereo Hoggz
GIRLS – Drew
OVER 30 – Leroy Bell
But my least favourite of the whole night was definitely Chris. He needs to go.
That’s it for tonight, we’ll see you tomorrow for the results. TWEET ME what you think and don’t forget to comment, I wanna hear your opinions! @TOMMYD

Totally agree with you on Lakoda Rayne (my favorite), Melanie Amaro, Stacy Francis and Stereo Hogzz but not with the following two.
Chris Rene: Agree he sucked last week but this was AMAZING. It reminded me of Lauryn Hill doing “Killing Me Softly”. With the right production, his Carpenters cover is a Billboard hit.
Drew: At first listen I thought it was odd too, but I came around. It was like Dido on an Eminem track, but then got rid of his vocals and released a remix of it. Kinda like what Rihanna and Alicia Keys did with Love The Way You Live & Empire State of Mind respectively. Loved it in the end.
I predict LeRoy Bell going home tomorrow.

Drew wasn’t AWFUL, but she didn’t sell me. I didn’t like it. But she was not the worst by far.

Why are they hating on Lakoda Rayne’s cheese? Most other country girl groups make them look positively serious.

I just don’t like seasons theme and the dresses. I think they could’ve been interpreted better as the seasons.

Yeah…I was feeling mixed bout Drew’s performance, like it wasn’t really her, and the way she moved reminded me of Taylor Swift performing “Super Bass” w Nicki in her prom dress costume =p heh kinda ‘awkdorable’…but so glad she finally did something upbeat! Can’t wait for next week!!!!
