The Weeknd Debuts Stylish ‘Secrets’ Music Video

I have no idea what’s going on here, but it sure is pretty to look at. Whatever the symbolism Abel Tesfaye aka The Weekend was going for, flew over my head.

Secrets” is the fourth single from his album, Starboy. The title track topped the Billboard Hot 100 while “I Feel It Coming” and “Party Monster” peaked at No. 4 and No. 16 respectively on the prestigious chart. No doubt, with an accompanying video now in tow, “Secrets,” which samples Tears for Fears’ “Pale Shelter” and The Romantic’s “Talking in Your Sleep,” should do equally as well as its predecessors.

The 27-year-old Canadian singer enlisted Pedro Martin-Calero to direct the stylish clip which was filmed at the University of Toronto and the Toronto Reference Library. It features a beautiful woman being captured by cape-wearing men. Before you know it, she’s levitating above a white rhombus-shaped bed. It all ends with The Weekend in the snow staring at a huge cross. Makes sense? Didn’t to me, but as mentioned before, I enjoyed watching it. Check it out below.

Great video! The Weeknd clearly paid homage to the 1980’s new wave music videos
