Wow. I have to admit I love TV, but after a week of watching brand new shows, my head is starting to hurt. Thank god I have a few days off of premieres before next week when we see a lot of our favorite shows return. And tonight, I only had to check out two shows but I have to say, it was a good night of television. Before I get started, I want to say that I think The CW has finally found their niche market and has really delivered with their newest show The Secret Circle. But, I’ll get to that in a bit. First, let’s talk about the triumphant (and gory) return of teen favorite, The Vampire Diaries.
Now to be honest, I have never caught I one single episode of The Vampire Diaries until tonight but now that I’ve watched, I definitely know what all the buzz is about. The show kicked off to an incredible and gruesome start. From what I read on Twitter, a few people weren’t quite ready for it. However, the storyline has me hooked and I kind of want to watch back from the beginning and catch up for this season. I know cast member Adam would encourage this. I know he loves this show. I can’t give you much premise on the storyline as I don’t know anything about the show or the characters, but what I do know is that if your a fan of the show, it’s only going to get better from now. If you’ve never watched the show like me, you may want to start. It’s real good.

So if you’re a fan of the movie The Craft, and know the storyline, that’s basically the premise of this new CW show. There are five witches (both boys & girls) who are descendents of witches aka their parents. Their powers have been pretty week until the new girl Cassie rolls in, completing their circle and make their powers unstoppable. The only problem is, Cassie doesn’t know she’s a witch. What makes this show interesting is that even though the kids seem to the be the focus of the show on figuring out their new powers and keeping them a secret, it’s the storyline of the parents that intrigues me the most. I want to know what happened and why Gale Harold’s character is the ultimate bad ass. This show looks amazing and while I may have ragged on it before, I think it’s going to take off and be the newest tween hit. Definitely a series record for me.
Did you check out the premiere of The Secret Circle? What did you think? Sound off below.

I’ve not been one for the “Tween” shows on CW (though I did catch the first few episodes of Vampire Diaries when it first aired). However, The Secret Circle appeared not too bad an episode & I am willing to watch a few more episodes of it, to see where it goes. Thursday nights for me have so far just been Grey’s Anatomy & Private Practice……so this could fit it well (can get both Eastern & Western coverage, with HD channels).

If you haven’t seen the first two season of Vamipre Diaries, you need to watch them. Season 2 especially moves at a break-neck speed, with constant twists and turns, it’s so good. I’m not in the CW’s target demographic, considering I’m about 80 years too old, but it seems like I’ll actually be watching a lot of CW this season, between TVD, Secret Circle, Supernatural, Nikita, Ringer, and I’m also looking forward to trying out Hart of Dixie. I promise I have a life, lol.
