Joaquin Phoenix Returns In Captivating “The Master” Movie Trailer

The Master‘ is a 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man. His wife is played by Amy Adams, and the film also stars the amazing Laura Dern and the handsome Rami Malek (top right). The storyline involves a religion called “The Cause” which has been compared to Scientology. This film is sure to spark some discussion I’m sure!

This marks Joaquin Phoenix’s return to acting after he said he was retiring and then sorta went a little crazy. In the trailer, he is being questioned by a superior, but seems to be having trouble remembering something that happened. I have to say, the film looks very intriguing and given the cast and that the movie is written, directed, and co-produced by Paul Thomas Anderson, it’s bound to be amazing. I can’t wait.

‘The Master’ is scheduled for release on October 12, 2012. Watch the first captivating trailer below.
