FOX Renews ‘The Masked Singer’

Prep yourself for another round of elaborate costumes. FOX just announced it’s renewed freshman hit The Masked Singer for a sophomore season.

The breakout hit, inspired by the Korean series King of Mask Singer, debuted to 9.4 million viewers and a 3.0 demo rating. It was television’s highest-rated unscripted launch in seven years since FOX’s The X Factor. When DVR playback is factored in, the premiere numbers ballooned to 13 million with a 4.2 demo.

Naturally, ratings have dipped in subsequent weeks, but it’s still averaging a healthy 7.6 million viewers and a 2.5 (in Live+Same Day).

No confirmation was made on whether Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger would return to the panel or Nick Cannon as host, but I’m pretty sure it’s a safe bet.

Have you been watching the singing competition? I have and enjoy it for the most part. My biggest gripe is when the celeb panelists throw out these insane guesses just to throw viewers off. Like Justin Bieber, Angelina Jolie or Taylor Swift would do this show. LOL
