Attention all Nicholas Sparks fans. One of his most beloved books turned film is about to be released and it stars one very sexy famous face. I’m talking about Zac Efron. The film isn’t set for release until April 2012 but it’s already getting major buzz with Efron leading the conversation being seen in such a serious, dramatic role. This is the role I’ve been waiting for ever since being a little disappointed by Charlie St. Cloud. Even in this short preview of the film, I can already tell this will be one of Zac’s best roles to date. Check out a synopsis of the film:
U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.
The film also stars Taylor Schilling and the exceptional Blythe Danner. Director for the film is Scott Hicks who hasn’t stepped into his director shoes since 2009. In the trailer/featurette, we see that author Nicholas Sparks had his hand placed very firmly in the creation of this film which is good considering he wrote the original words on paper. However, he didn’t adapt the novel into the screenplay and left that to Will Fetters. I cannot wait to see this film and sure it won’t disappoint. Watch the trailer below.
