Charlie Hunnam Heads To The Amazon In ‘The Lost City Of Z’ Movie Trailer

The Lost City Of Z is an upcoming action biographical film based on the 2009 book of the same name by David Grann. It depicts the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett’s attempts to find an ancient legendary city in the jungle of the Mato Grosso region of Brazil

At the dawn of the 20th century, Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the Amazon. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as “savages,” the determined Fawcett – supported by his devoted wife (Sienna Miller), son (Tom Holland) and aide de camp (Robert Pattinson) – returns time and again to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case, culminating in his and his son’s mysterious disappearance in 1925.

The James Gray-directed adventure film premiered at the 2016 New York Film Festival. It hits theaters on April 21. Check out the official trailer below.
