‘The Haunting Of Hill House’ Renewed For Season 2 But Will Feature New Characters

Lately, it feels like Netflix has been canceling more shows than renewing them. Good news for fans of The Haunting Of Hill House. The streaming service ordered a second season of the horror drama.

The series, which is simply going by The Haunting now, will be an anthology. While the first season was a re-imagining of the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, the sophomore run will take place at a spooky new location and feature “a new story with all new characters.”

This development shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Show creator Mike Flanagan previously told TVLine that it wasn’t likely that we’d see the Crain family again in future seasons.

“We tied up all of those threads exactly how they should be,” he explained. “I don’t really see a need to revisit those characters, even in cameos,” he stated in an interview.

Did you catch the first season? New episodes of the anthology are expected to arrive sometime in 2020. Check out the renewal announcement below.
