The renewal was definitely expected given the Season 2 premiere doubled the viewership of the series premiere last year. In addition to being a ratings hit, the Margaret Atwood adapted series is a critical and awards darling. It became the first streaming service series to walk away with Best Drama at the Golden Globes and Emmys.
Also receiving good news was another streaming hit. Diane Lockhart aka Christine Baranski will continue to fight The Good Fight. CBS All Access picked up the legal drama for Season 3 as well.
“The Good Fight is a perfect example of what we strive for a CBS All Access original series to be: thought-provoking, boundary-pushing and, most of all, incredibly entertaining,” Julie McNamara, executive VP of CBS All Access original content, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the incomparable cast will bring to audiences in Season 3.”
