During the first season of The Handmaid’s Tale, Emily/Ofglen (Alexis Bledel) often referred to her wife. Looks like viewers will finally get to see the backstory of how Emily and her wife attempted to flee to Canada with their son. The critically-acclaimed Hulu show just cast Emily’s partner.
Clea DuVall will recur as Sylvia on The Handmaid’s Tale. The 40-year-old actress is the first new piece of casting for Season 2. Duvall is a current series regular on Veep, as well as recurring status on Better Call Saul. Her previous acting credits include feature films Argo, But I’m a Cheerleader, Can’t Hardly Wait and Girl, Interrupted.
When The Handmaid’s Tale returns, Bledel and Amanda Brugel (Rita) will be promoted to series regulars. Bledel along with Elisabeth Moss and Ann Dowd won Emmys for their roles. Overall, the series took home eight statues. The 13-episode second season is slated to premiere in 2018.
