When FOX announced its new schedule at their upfronts earlier this Spring, The Following was the show I was most stoked about. Sadly, the network decided to hold off on the show until midseason. BOO. Thankfully, the wait is almost over and 2013 is just around the corner. FOX just released a new promo poster that’s undoubtedly one of the best of the new season. It’s mesmerizing, creepy and beautiful all at the same time.

Just to give you a bit of background on the show. It’s from the brainchild of Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek), but vastly different from anything you’ve seen from him. It’s an edge-of-your-seat thriller starring Kevin Bacon and Nico Tortorella. Bacon is an ex-FBI agent called out of retirement to track down a devious and diabolical serial killer (James Purefoy), the mastermind behind a nationwide string of murders. When I first saw the trailer, I got a Brad Pitt Se7en vibe.

Now that you know the premise of the show, the new artwork for The Following will resonate even more. It features a nearly-naked woman with Edgar Allan Poe lines written all over her body. Previous key art from the network used the same theme, but this new one is a much more elevated and refined version. Check it out below, along with the trailer.

The Following Trailer

The following trailer was already creepy enough, but if you want to check out the more intense version, head over to FOX.com.

Pretty wicked artwork, right? Will you tune in to FOX on Monday, January 21 when The Following premieres? Not sure why the network waited til midseason and gave us the turkey that is The Mob Doctor instead.
