Is A Devil Wears Prada Sequel Coming Soon?

Time to bring out all those cerulean sweaters you have in your closet. Miranda Priestly is coming back. I’m practically creaming my pants at the very thought of Meryl Streep uttering, “Why, is no one reaaaaady?” one more time. Typically, sequels to beloved movies terrify me, but I’m so on board with this, words can’t even describe how excited I am. Even if the sequel is only half as good, I have no doubt Streep will make it deliciously watchable.

EW.com is reporting that the author of “The Devil Wears Prada”, Lauren Weisberger is working on a sequel to her debut hit novel. Titled, “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns“, the story picks up eight years after Andrea (Andy) Sachs leaves Runway magazine. Not only is she planning a wedding with a handsome media scion, she’s also working for a bridal magazine, The Plunge. How convenient.

There she works alongside with her one-time Runway rival now BFF, Emily. Since the publication world is a small one, it’s only natural Andy bumps into her former boss Miranda Priestly once again. I’m sure when they meet, Priestly will call her “Ahn-dre-ah“, reminding Andy of her days as Miranda’s second assistant.

I can’t get enough of that coat montage. Back in the day, I used to chuck my coat at my staff just as a joke. Or at least I hope they thought it was a joke ;). Simon & Schuster is hoping to publish “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns” for April 2013. If the book is another best-seller, I’m sure Hollywood will work on a sequel immediately.

Would you watch a sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada”? What are your favorite lines from the movie? Sound off below.

Even if the book is a flop I still reckon they’ll make a movie out of it. Lauren Weisberger’s other books after the first Devil’s Wear’s Prada were all panned, and I have to admit it wasn’t that great of a book. Sure the plot was fun, but the writing was horrendous, Miranda was written as a one dimensional monster and Andrea was actually really unlikeable and whinnny.

The movie was one of those rare examples of how a movie was sooo much better then the book. My guess is things not going so well for Weisberger and she resorting to her older material to try and bag more hollywood royalties.

they should just make the sequel without the book because the movie was so much better than the book. any reason to get meryl streep on the screen is a good enough reason to watch.
