MTV Cancels ‘The Buried Life’

After two season, MTV has decided to bury the reality documentary series “The Buried Life“. The show features Duncan Penn, Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, and Dave Lingwood who are attempt to complete a list of “100 things to do before you die.” If starring in a reality show was one of them, they can cross that off their list! For every one thing they crossed off their list, they’d help a random stranger accomplish one of their dreams as well. I guess instead of something positive an inspirational like this show, people want to watch something tragic like Jersey Shore. Hey, the statistics speak for themselves.

Even though the show has been canceled, MTV still wants to work with these guys in another format, by either extending the show online or developing new digital or TV concepts with the network. Even though Jersey Shore became popular for all the wrong reasons, The Buried Life did get some notable attention for the good things they were doing…

Last year, the guys appeared on Oprah where they helped a young girl conquer her fear of heights. In 2010, they helped make a $100,000 donation to the World Food Programme and more recently in 2011, they helped make a $300,000 donation to The Keep America Beautiful foundation. If you have never seen the show before, check out the mini trailer below to get an idea about who these guys are and what the show is about.
