I don’t normally share Nielsen Ratings unless it’s the premiere week or finale episodes, but this truly has me impressed. Congrats CBS.
After a three-week winter break hiatus, The Big Bang Theory came roaring back. Not only did viewers tune in, but they came in droves. Currently in its sixth season, the CBS comedy achieved its best ratings EVER. Given the viewership decline of veteran shows, this feat is truly remarkable. Its strong showing also benefited all the shows following it. Two and a Half Men hit season highs, while Person of Interest and Elementary both matched series bests. Find out how many “bangers” tuned in below.
In this day and age, delivering 10 million for a scripted show is cause for celebration. Let alone this whopping number. The Big Bang Theory attracted 19 million viewers. Can you believe a sitcom at 8 pm nearly almost brought in 20 million eyeballs? What is this, the NBC Must See Television era of the 1990s? Just to put things in perspective, the show averaged the following during its previous seasons:
Pretty impressive, right? The show just keeps getting better with age. Do you watch The Big Bang Theory? Did you tune in last night? Sound off below.

I’m impressed with The Big Bang Theory’s ability to increase its ratings as the years go on. It’s remarkable, but then, it’s also a great show. I watch it every week. I can’t watch it live because I work evenings at DISH, but I catch it on my DISH Hopper. It’s set to auto-record The Big Bang Theory along with the other primetime shows on the four major networks using PrimeTime Anytime, so I never have to worry about missing an episode even if I forget to set a timer.
