In 1979, The Bellamy Brothers released a track called “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body,” with the lyrics “If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?” Needless to say, they are a bit peeved about Britney Spears‘s new song having very similar lyrics. I’m a little undecided on whether I think this is even an issue. The lyrics aren’t even exactly the same and their song came out over thirty years ago.
David Bellamy explains, “Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney. She’s a talented gal. But professionally we feel completely ripped off.” Britney’s HIAM lyrics say, “If I said I want your body now, would you hold it against me?”
Listen to the track below and share your thoughts on whether or not you think they have a case here.

They have no case, “If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?” is a common if very cheesy pickup line.

They’re looking for something that isn’t there. “If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?” could be in many songs and also there are way more songs out there that sound alike and have better chances.
Like Heidi Montag *SHUDDER* totally ripped off the Saturdays beat in her “Body Language” song. Just listen to the opening of both songs.

I hate this shit when I hear it.
No one can EVER utter those lines in a song…..ever?
If you copy a whole song, yes you have a case.
You do not have a case when a similiar few words are repeated.
Who holds the patent on How are you?
WE’RE ALL IN TROUBLE THEN!
